Pidgeons getting worse?
Pidgeons getting worse?
Just got back and an early morning walk on riverside. Is it just me, or have the pidgeon numbers increased exponentially?
I could see it being a problem... I’m guessing there’s no city management of this?

They have increased a lot. More feeding, more rubbish; it is paradise for the rats on wings. Feeding them is illegal in theory but, as with most everything in the KoW, enforcement is lax.NotABogan wrote:Just got back and an early morning walk on riverside. I guess one of the problems with a burgeoning middle class and reduced poverty, is an increase in the rat and pigeon populations.

My wife mentioned a few days ago that the fine for feeding them has been increased and cops are supposed be enforcing it properly. I think she said it's now 50,000 reil, but not sure about that.

I guess it's only illegal to feed/sell feed in front of the royal palace, but all other locations are OK...
Public reminded not to feed pigeons in front of Royal Palace
Obviously enforcement is nonexistent.

You can get fatal diseases from birds like these. Respiratory etc.
You would not stand in a square and feed corn to rats, but city pigeons are basically rats with wings.
People are strange.

Easy solution, open a restaurant, call it 'Le Pigeon' and serve it to the rich and affluent, at extortionate prices.

I would not touch a dead rat on wings with a barge pole.newnewnewbie wrote:Easy solution, open a restaurant, call it 'Le Pigeon' and serve it to the rich and affluent, at extortionate prices.

I am German, not Austrian. And it is Wiener Schnitzel. And the meat for that does not come from some diseased flying rat feeding on garbage.newnewnewbie wrote:But you like wienerschnitzel?

I agree, keep both feet on the ground, pigs, chicken, cows, etc.
And generally avoid anything that flies. on a daily basis.
