ירי ילדים והפצצת אזרחים דורש אומץ, כמו גם הטרדה מינית של עובדי ההוראה.

A great segregated bar. The French had the south end of the bar, we occupied the north end of the bar, and the entente cordiale flowed freely !

The French can make perfectly acceptable servants once properly house broken - a concierge or sommelier for example, or a particuarly buxom French Maid, can all be utilised with the correct training.

Didn't the French invent the original bum gun a la bidet?Playboy wrote:I have said it before, but obviously need to repeat it.slavedog wrote:Not to mention his collection of French pornographic lithographs.Miguelito wrote:Funny, one of your go-to beer spots you now sit at one end of the table, and the French sit at the other end.Playboy wrote:I believe that I mentioned it - briefly - up above (including spelling error ^^Garry Crabtree wrote:How can we talk about bars and restaurants around Wat Phnom, without mentioning Le Deauville Brasserie???

* While the average Brit uses 3 pounds of soap annually and the average German 2.9 pounds, the average Frenchman uses 1.3 pounds--meaning four cakes of soap are made to stretch out over an entire year.
* 40% of French men, and 25% of women, do not change their underwear daily.
* Fully 50% of the men, and 30% of women, do not use deodorant.

Yes that is the one thank you.slavedog wrote:The place to which I believe Backhome refers was called Rendezvous. It had some lovely antique furniture, tables with mother of pearl inlay. For years they had veal cordon bleu on the menu for $6, then one day someone must have spotted the error and it changed to $16. They did ok pizzas too. It became Fish, which closed recently. It's now a khmer barbecue / soup type place.

I remember Rendezvous well, I lived nearby in 2006-7 and often dropped in. They had some great framed photos on the walls of the city in days gone by, and the food was always good.backhome wrote:Yes that is the one thank you.slavedog wrote:The place to which I believe Backhome refers was called Rendezvous. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Actually Rendezvous was on the corner of 130 and riverside and I think morphed into Resto Du Coin or something. I used to have lunch at Rendezvous from around 1996 when I was working in town. OK wine and OK food.
Rendezvous was on the corner of 108 when I lived in the area from 2001 to 2010. It may have been on 130 before that but I couldn't say.

That is very true, but possibly due to BREXIT, we have now swapped tables and we now sit on their side away from the door. See who says we can’t comprise with Europe.Miguelito wrote:Funny, one of your go-to beer spots you now sit at one end of the table, and the French sit at the other end.Playboy wrote:I believe that I mentioned it - briefly - up above (including spelling error ^^Garry Crabtree wrote:How can we talk about bars and restaurants around Wat Phnom, without mentioning Le Deauville Brasserie???

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

Oddly enough, my other primary watering hole is also segregated, us at the Northend of the bar, and the Singaporeans at the Southend of the bar.

All we had was 50 cent beers 1 dollar joints and a 2$ guesthouse to crash out in.
Was way wayyyyy more fun back then.
Some of us have fought in wars.
Although, it might have been more fun, its far easier to moan about the changes in the KOW with the internet/4g these days.
Back in those days, you would probably have had to talk bollocks on K440 in a dingy disintegrating chip board booth in an internet cafe. Now that just aint cool man.

Not only does it look disgusting but the price is a joke. How did pizza in Cambodia go so wrong? I know it's the pizza company, but still.
