It’s really sad to see how thoroughly broken London is. It’s like seeing an old friend who has succumbed to decrepitude putting on a brave face.
The roads are crumbling. The infrastructure is failing. The cost of living is skyrocketing. The hard fought gains of liberal society are being eroded and diminished to allow for capitalists to buy at bargain prices. But all around luxury housing developments can be seen, pushing the working class population of the city into the outskirts while the heart of the city is given over to foreign “property bankers”, who park their tax haven money in accommodations that won’t have any occupants in the foreseeable future.
It’s like spending time with a friend who is dying of cancer but is nevertheless going ahead with a facelift. Yet all they talk about is the cancer as if it’s some golden opportunity for rebirth. And by that I mean Brexit. It’s all you hear on the news. A droning reminder that, like the orchestra on the Titanic, there was a desire to maintain normality even though a watery death was upon them.
All I see is imminent collapse, taking with it innocent parties in a final flurry of arrogance and self denial driven by those wishing for a nostalgic Britain of a mythical lost era. I sincerely wish it wasn’t true. But now more than ever it’s clear, that the captain May go down with the ship.
Other than that I had quite a jolly day.
Went back to Europe last year for the first time in ages. I was amazed at London. Clean, everything working, bike and running paths, great infrastructure, fantastic public transport, great beers. I would agree that it is expensive though.

Thanks for the update, I couldn't stand the guy anyway, just your typical leftist know-it-all Hollywood bimbo,
who blocked me after calling me a 'daft cunt', due to challenging him on fact-finding various issues.

I invited him down here, to say it to my face, with no response.

Came as an 18 year old backpacker in 1998 for 3 months.
Moved here permanently when I was 23, wasted a few years but my partner kept me sane & alive. Opened a business in 2008. Child in 2012. New job last year.
Imagine I'll be here for the rest of my life.

Cambodia is alot easier than people make it out to be.

Almost too easy, that's why every other expat has a drinking problem becaue why get sober when the there is no reason to be sober.

The cost of living has been discussed and is possible on 400 USD per month.

Thats 100 USD per week

Thats 4800 USD per year.

Ah well, at least the math skills are consistent with the grammar and spelling skills.

I used to teach yoga, like deep fried tofu, Don't ride bikes anymore, and will probably skip insurance and not drive either. If I get croaked riding in a tuk-tuk, I will have lived a full life.

He means all the SJW mentality in cambodia nowdays.

It used to be opposite back in the 1990s and 2000s and late 2010s was a PowerShot sway from drug booz and cheap hookers

Pineapples were 2 Cents a piece in 1990.

Which begs the question: how old was Pineapple in the 90's as he alludes to having been in Cambodia back then. Someone who met him mentioned that he is in his 30's. Pineapple, you came to Cambodia when you were 5 and partook in drugs and hookers? Really? Fark, you Bogans mature quick.
