Try Alamo cafe between 154 and 172. Just make sure and order the "Beef" burger, otherwise you will get whatever is in the freezer.

What kind of wagyu do you serve? Certainly you know that wagyu literally just means 'Japanese beef' right?. Like any cut or quality of beef from Japan can be called wagyu. Even the shitty stuff - lots of it isn't any better than any other beef around the world (some of it is the best on Earth of course). By all accounts you guys have great burgers, so I'm curious which 'wagyu' you serve.Tomoka wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 8:38 amI work as the GM down at Atlas, and yes I can confirm it's real Wagyu, and am happy to show our purchases to prove it if anyone has any doubts. We tried making the burgers 100% wagyu, but they were a bit too juicy and would fall apart, so now they are about 70% Wagyu and 30% imported Australian ground beef, which has better consistency. I'm fairly confident saying these patties make the best burgers in town.moethebartender wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 6:07 amIs it for real Wagyu? I've seen so many claims of Wagyu or Kobe beef in all kinds of shit from hot dogs to steak, and it's almost never true, at least here in the US.
I agree with previous posters that the Exchange and Fat boys make good ones too, I'd even throw Lone Pine in as decent as well.
Anyway...whatever you do. Don't pronounce it as Way-Goo.

Wagyu doesn't mean "Japanese beef", it's a breed of cow, like Angus...
It's already a very serious crime to put the salad under the burger patty but that huge quantity of soggy tomato is an abomination. It looks like something an Australian would concoct and to be honest you might as well whack some beetroot on it at this point. Just look at it.

Wagyu is not a breed of cow. Wagyu beef can be called as such if it comes from one of the four breeds of domestic cows of which there are over 100 brands and grades of the beef. I should have said any beef of the 4 native Japanese cattle breeds can be called wagyu.
Wagyu as a catch all for amazing Japanese beef can be misleading.
Agreed, nothing about that photo makes me interested in trying it.orde wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 7:57 amIt's already a very serious crime to put the salad under the burger patty but that huge quantity of soggy tomato is an abomination. That bun looks even worse than the veg soup below the undercooked meat. How were the fries?
Gordon Ramsey’s opinion on Wagyu: “It’s a special cut. It needs to be treated with a little bit of respect. Everywhere you go now, there’s fucking Wagyu meatballs. Preserve it a little bit. Rest it. Allow it to become special.”

I don't eat many burgers, but I had Tacos Cat's house beefburger recently, and it was very nice.
Good meat patty, nice bun, cooked well, maybe grilled.
Would recommend, and it was cheap too.
