Apart from anything else, it's quite obvious that this government signed an agreement to uphold human rights in Cambodia as it was one of the primary points of the EBA agreement.
Now, they are crying about it being unfair when it's threatened to be reassessed/ removed after a major flouting by those same people of human rights. Ffs. I would like to point out to these people that what is really unfair, is dissolving the main opposition party by using, amongst other things, the fear of the KR and subsequent long drawn out civil war as a psychological means to stop protest. Disgusting after what the older generation have been through. Absolutely disgusting. Shame on you.
Thanks PPP for another cutting edge article.
NEWS JUST IN. China now pretty much owns Cambodia. It was a decision this government made to stay in power even before dissolving the opposition. Not really very much closer for them to get.The EU’s “scare tactics” or coercive measures may not produce the intended results – instead, it may result in a lose-lose scenario for both sides.
Not only will the EU’s EBA threat damage Cambodia-EU relations, but it will also force the Kingdom to further embrace China,
In layman terms, they've gone to bed, done the act, and are relaxing over a post coital cigarette. Each thinking the other is their sweet little bitch.
EU, Cambodia should rethink their approaches to EBA
