Don't think hibernation can be considered a good defense in this particular case, but worth a try.

especially after one of Da's famous sleepy ice-teas
Next fridge Walter's going to buy, he'll make sure it's a no-Frost.
Seeing that "W" needs lots of money and that there's public interest in his story, for some reason I cannot quite understand, maybe he could write a book. "How I would have done it if I hadn't been ice tea drugged", or something.

Considering the fact that he's a completely untrustworthy swine nobody would buy that shit. He's just going to lay low and hope that his sweetheart (who just made one mistake remember) gets pardoned after 15 years or so.
It's a very sad story. We all start off in different directions. Walter went down a bad road and found himself at a crossroads.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Too bad then, if he were an upstanding character, he might have been able to portray himself as a heroic loan shark exterminator.
How convenient that Walter was awake and out for dinner with the 3 kids while his wife murdered somebody, and that the wife was quick enough to shove the whole victim’s body into a small freezer and even clean three rooms and air out the whole house from the smell of death.
That his wife could then drug him to sleep every night and day except for when there were witnesses at the restaurant to report that he was awake and acting normal is a real miracle.
The stars really aligned to clear Walter of any suspicion. It is really amazing how he could be completely out of the picture while she acted in total perfection right under the nose of at least 4 family members hiding such a crime day and night from the child’s bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom.
She even timed the drugging so that he could sit and wait for her for 17 hours wide awake while she was being questioned by the police, calling friends and begging for money.
It really is convenient for Walter to have such unpredictable patterns that automatically grant him an alibi when something incriminating happens.
If only the entrepreneurial genius wife spent equal mastermind activity on figuring out how they could earn money perhaps they wouldn’t be so much in debt that they would need to murder people or hire lowlife junkies to stalk and scare friends they owe money to.

Did he ever get a drug test to see how much, if any of the supposed drugs were in his system? That would have helped his case. Maybe it would have already been out of his system. I don't know. Maybe he was smart enough to eat some of the pills himself... Maybe not. I don't know. It's a miracle the wife somehow knew the exact amount of drugs to put a 300ish pound fat guy in a state or he would know what's going on for days on end and for him to not think something weird was going on medically.
I think people generally know when they have been drugged the next day. It's not a normal feeling, especially if they are getting drugged for consecutive days in a row.
I don't really know him. But I know quite a few people that do. Lots of them keep lamenting that he couldn't possibly be involved...no way he could be involved. To me the story never made sense as it was told and if the same story still stands... I still don't believe him or the way the psycho wife told it.

You say it would have helped his case. He’s a free man. The only case is interested observers and we don’t count.kansaicanuck wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 10:49 pmDid he ever get a drug test to see how much, if any of the supposed drugs were in his system? And all this over $700, ffs. The culture of usury in Cambodia is fraught.

That's right. I forgot that the police don't do their jobs correctly here so it really doesn't matter like you say other than in the court of public opinion. The wife/husband told the cops whatever outlandish story they did and the cops believed it or didn't care to take the investigation further as they had a easy perp to jail for the crime. So she's in jail and anybody else that may have been involved are walking around free.violet wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 8:37 amYou say it would have helped his case. He’s a free man.
