@Larz - For the record, I usually DON'T drink. As explained in the OP my friend was under significant duress, due to several factors which were primarily out of his control - and it was the culmination of stress, along with the final triggering my the bus attendant which set things off. He's have taken busses before, but generally don't feel comfortable on them, so decided several years ago to only take busses if absolutely necessary. This was one of those cases.
@Sonic1 - I don't understand your comment. Not sure if you read the details of the OP, or even know how to read...

KiR is not six-feet under.
He went up the chimney.
He went up the chimney.
In other words, you were on a massive come down and totally strung out. Try valium next time, it's cheaper than Black Panther and fits discretely in ones pocket.MrPoopyPants wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:04 pmdue to several factors which were primarily out of his control - and it was the culmination of stress, along with the final triggering my the bus attendant which set things off.
Entertaining story, though.

Can't read it.

@slavedog - Agreed. Not strung out, for the record. Would simply admit if that was the case. No hard stuff involved. It was simply severe stress and sleep deprivation from the tedious bus ride from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, and then no time/energy to find a decent guesthouse, almost zero sleep (even though I tried), etc. Agreed about the Valium - in fact, both were taken (also not the best strategy, but if done properly it works). Decision-making ability was thrown off because of the lack of sleep and other factors mentioned, and it all came to a head at the border crossing. Had actually originally asked the bus company if possible to get off BEFORE the border, so as to cross on the bike independently (which would have prevented this situation), but would have had to pay same price to border OR HCMC. Made best decision possible under the conditions - but ultimately the "bad" decision. Just a bad situation across the board. Have crossed the border many times in the past without incident. This was a one-off, and a "(temporary) insanity plea" could be made (if an ACTUAL crime were committed -which is wasn't). Yes, my friend made a twat out of himself - fair enough. But it wasn't premeditated, and if the clock could be turned back he would have taken the alternative strategy (to get off the bus BEFORE the border crossing).
BTW, you are not the only one who seems to be "entertained" by this affair. The guys on the Vietnamese side found the whole show quite entertaining. Interpret that as you may.

"Asshole" is a relative terms, but at least you were able to string a coherent sentence together this time.
You're making progress...

Mr.Poo Pants, Stop you're diarrhea posts, please. Final Warning
Firstly...just be honest and admit this story is about your own experience, not a friend's, way too much detail for it not to be your own experience (can't believe I even read it).
But, to answer your question...
You will not have any problems whatsoever crossing back through the same border.
Just rock up,apply for the E-type (Ordinary) Visa on arrival which costs $35, and crack on...simple.
With regards to extending that visa, if working then all you need to do is get an official letter of employment from your employer and submit that as supporting documentation in order to apply for a 6 or 12 month EB (Business) Extension of Stay (EOS). Then apply for a Work Permit.
If not working, then you can apply for the 6 month EG (General) EOS, this gives you 7 months, you then need to make a visa run to start fresh.
Or...if you're an old fella, you can apply for an ER (Retirement) EOS (1,3,6,12 month options available). If you are aged 55+ then you don't even need to supply any supporting documentation.

After reading this reply, I'm suspecting that shitty pants is a troll.MrPoopyPants wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 1:08 pmOh well, @gavinmac. He was way to quick to single out GM and slag him off.
I then went on to read other post made by "Unreliable Bowel Movements ", after the above post.
They were all in the same mode,
- Passive Aggressive with a hint of more aggression to follow if you trigger him.
Which reinforced my opinion that SP is a troll.
Up to you guys if you want to play with him or ignore him.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.
