Bringing back cigarettes to UK via Singapore
Alright guys. I'm going back to the UK for 6 months soon and plan to bring back a few cartons of cigarettes for friends and family. Only problem is I'm flying via Singapore and I've heard they're pretty tough on the wheezy of us...
I've managed to fly back from countries in Africa with copious amounts of cigarettes and no issues, but this is my first time flying from Asia...
If anyone could enlighten me, that would be appreciated, I have a couple hour layover in Singapore so will not be leaving the airport and from there flying straight to MCR.

If you’re transiting SG then no issue.
UK are more hot on it then Singapore.

As long as you are only transiting through Singapore airport it is not an issue...if you exit the airport (go through Immigration & Customs) then you cannot bring any cigarettes through, although they'll usually allow 1x opened packet with a cigarette or 2 missing.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

Yeah I've read they've cracked down on tobacco and alcohol from non EU countries... Any insight into postage? I'm aware that if found they'll ask for tax to be payed and if not payed they'll be destroyed. But what are the chances they will be found is the question...
I don’t work for customs and have never illegally imported cigarettes (apart from France) so I can’t answer.
Just fill your case up. If you’re going to do it you may as well go full on!

Maybe you're right... Although I might have nightmares of your avatar as I sleep in a box in HMPS.

I went back to the UK this summer, transiting through KL. With me I took 1,400 cigarettes - 1,200 more than the allowed amount.
They were in checked luggage.
I had no problems as I changed planes in KL and was through and out of Heathrow in about 15-20 minutes, also with no problems.
As I understand it, most Customs stops these days are Intelligence led, rather than random stops.
It is, of course, your choice if you wish to risk it or not.

Take as many as you want and don't worry about it.
Worst ways you just tell them to keep 'em.

cigarettes as a gift? they kill dont they some bloody gift!!
And racially profiled.
I got a proper search flying in from Shanghai where you certainly can't get anything as dodgy as you can get in London.
Mid-way through the search I asked the very polite customs fella, " If you don't mind my asking, why have you stopped a businessman in a suit flying in from one of the most sterile cities in the world?"
He apologised and said there was a plane from Jamaica in front of you and we searched pretty much everyone on the flight. Unfortunately we have to tick white bloke in suit in the stats or we get in trouble.
You naughty Boy. what is the worst punished if they random found them extra 1,200?... a slap on the hand and a fine?Playboy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 1:55 pmI went back to the UK this summer, transiting through KL. With me I took 1,400 cigarettes - 1,200 more than the allowed amount.
