Just while perusing this forum, I got yet another notification from my Wing app that informed me that I've received money. As several times before, I was neither expecting a payment from anyone nor does the name of the sender or the amount ring any bell.
Who are those idiots that send money to random people's Wing accounts, presumably by accident? Don't they double check the details?
What's annoying is that there's no simple way for me to simply bounce such a transfer right away. Sometimes Wing reverses the transaction, typically after a few days. That's one reason why I don't just send the money back, I wouldn't know if they are going to reverse it. I could probably call Wing, but I'm not in Cambodia right now (and wasn't each time that happened before), so that would cost me quite a bit.
That's at least the 5th time that has happened. Small amounts, typically between $10 and $30. Nobody has ever sent money to any of my accounts by accident in any other country, so there must be something seriously wrong with either Wing or their users. Don't senders get to see my name to check it? It would strike them as unknown and unusual just like theirs strike me.
Dumb Wing Users (A Rant)
I think you should spend some time reading rants on 440. You need to work on sounding less coherent, more angry.
What you have just described is little more than a wtf moment

Thanks, I'll work on it.

I get really annoyed by people accidentally sending me money too. What do they think that I'm poor or something?

This couple got a trip to the monkey house last month for spending a bank error. "If you've ever wondered what you would do if a pot of money inexplicably showed up in your bank account, one couple's woes following an unexpected windfall provides a useful lesson: First, contact your bank. Robert and Tiffany Williams of Montoursville, Pennsylvania, in May reportedly received an unexpected deposit of more than $120,000, the result of a BB&T bank teller's mistake, according to a police criminal complaint provided to CBS News by the Pennsylvania State Police.
The money was supposed to have been deposited to an investment firm.
Rather than checking with the bank on the nature of the deposit, the pair allegedly spent more than $100,000 on a number of household items, including a $15,000 down payment on a 2015 Chevy Traverse, two four-wheelers for about $10,000, a $4,500 camper and a race car. They also are said to have spent money on their bills and $15,000 to help friends, the complaint said.
Once the bank caught the error in June, it withdrew the funds from the Williams' account. That triggered an overdraft, since the couple had already spent most of the money, state police said.
"During the investigation, the Williams admitted they were aware that the money deposited in their account did not belong to them and that they had made numerous purchases with that money," according to a statement from state police.
Before the funds had mistakenly been deposited, the couple had $1,121 in their account, the complaint noted.
Pennsylvania state trooper Aaron Brown wrote in the complaint that Tiffany Williams "told the bank her husband had spent a great portion of the funds and purchased a four-wheeler. She said she would speak to her husband and attempt to construct a repayment agreement." But then the couple allegedly stopped responding to the bank.
The couple was arrested on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. The charges were earlier reported by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, a Pennsylvania newspaper. " https://www.cbsnews.com/news/montoursvi ... t-by-bb-t/

Freedom is not a state. It is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau.. Freedom is a continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.-John Lewis
