I tone things down online, in real life I am nowhere near as pleasant, tolerant, or easy going.

I actually found you far more reserved than your blustery online persona!

Well, you are (almost) white, a straight male, and not French.Starving Pelican wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 2:33 pmI actually found you far more reserved than your blustery online persona!

Sounds as if you've been spending an inordinate amount of time thinking about Scobienz. I find that a little queer.Gaggy Bravy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 1:52 pmI'm sure many of 440's dwindling yet newer membership missed this.Dallow Spicer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 12:07 pmYes. You’ve missed something. She used to post here and that was her username.
Her presence here was brief and quite unremarkable.
It's also odd that you refer to her in that way. Why not "wife", "girlfriend", "fiance", "beneficiary" or whatever the hell she is to you.
You've always struck me as awkwardly distant and either by nature or nurture unable to connect with real internal emotions and this inability of yours to refer to your life partner in an unequivocally loving way just proves the point.
I have a pet theory that your periods of dormancy and activity on 440 are directly related to your emotional state. I think when you are experiencing personal trials, as mental escape of sorts, you amble onto 440 with an eye toward critical and condescending missives/comments.
It's either that or you're just an unrepentant, intractable dickwad.
Best of luck to "Indulgence's" flash-frozen lumpia processing plant or whatever "gap" market she's uncovered.
If I thought I'd get a truthful answer, I'd ask how much dosh you've had to extend for this brainchild endeavor. But you're just going to say, "Not a cent."
This is great news....get that ironclad pre-nup buttoned up tight gm, this has disaster written all over it.Dallow Spicer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 11:49 pmI hear this is a subject close to your heart though. What do you plan post nuptials, gavinmac?
TheGrimReaper wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 1:45 pmSlavedog, you do not belong on this forum as you talk too much sense.
Yes, it's bollocks. Some very good schools in Phnom Penh these days if you can addord them (and I'm not thinking about ISPP or Northbridge). I think it's an excellent place for kids to grow up. Around 90% of leavers from my kids' school go on to overseas universities after graduating. I doubt that the average secondary school in the uk would have anywhere near that percentage.

My wife had no idea where Ireland was when i told her where we were going.
"We're going to Iceland?"
Give me strength.
She can't pronounce the capital city correctly yet. Calls it "Dumpling".
She's mostly working 7 days a week now. Little Duracel bunny. I swear she almost gets depressed if she has a day off...or we have to go shopping or something.
Strangely she's always had trouble more with hot weather. I think i feel the cold more than her. Her Mothers boss calls her sweet heart. She's slotted in to work straight away, as i have.
My bosses are often tough/different with me. I sometimes wonder if it's because i'm an English cont. "He's a cont, and not even a good cont at that". Sometimes feels like they want me to fight for the right to live and work here??
The English were real bastards in this area of Ireland from what i've heard. Knocking peoples walls down and dragging them out of their houses etc.
I think that maybe once they accept you though, you are like family?
Surprised how quickly i slotted into working life after leading a life of leisure for so long. If i can do it, anyone can.
The only thing that was weird, and i guess a culture shock was the lack of people. We stayed at a relatives house when we first arrived and it was real farmland and rural. You never saw a soul outside. That could not have been more different than BKK or India where we had just come from.
I haven't seen one drunk Irishman yet. Most dissapointing.

I was surprised about the lack of drunk Irishmen there too. I guess they have massive controls on drunk driving now and shitty public transport options (and you never responded to my PM so we couldn’t even get a drink together).
I couldn’t imagine living there. It’s a wee bit cold. And all that talk about religion. I loved how racist they were, reminded me of Americans that claim they’re not racist because they have a black friend. “I don’t care if he’s Protestant... I dated one once! But my parents....”

The wind is bad here.
I ain't gonna be having many picnics on the beach here, that's for sure. Agghhh, the memories. Noodles sat in front of the sea washed down with several Anchors.

How is prejudice against members of another Christian denomination racist?Miguelito wrote: I couldn’t imagine living there. It’s a wee bit cold. And all that talk about religion. Its bollocks because it is such an incredibly narrow minded, crass and meaningless statement. What is a good education? What are post school opportunities? Define your terms.
