What you had in front of you were top of the pile educated hand-selected briefed and trained staff in a group situation (where everyone knew the other could inform on them if they said something not sticking to the official word) not country bumpkins.AnassRamaIV wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 12:35 amI had the pleasure of teaching north korean embassy staff in myanmar. a more cool, laid-back and brilliant bunch u will never meet.

fully aware of that. i wudnt expect irish embassy staff to be bog-trotting micks who cant spell either.
tho, new zealend embassy staff, well...
and, again, the bs stereotypes about how they were "watched by their fellow students"
utter horseshit, there was usually only 2-4 of them, they wud get shit-faced with us , talk far more openly than the pc, libtard, atifa western people do. individually they could say anythin, but it was no different in a group. u shud reflect on ur own brainwashing and propaganda.
just more bs lies.

I have known a few North Koreans over the years and they all seemed very cool, not at all what you might expect. Very artistic and laid back.

You know that the girls are forbidden to leave the restaurant?
And their salaries are sent back to the N.korean regime.
Why was this restaurant allowed in the first place?

I remember the first time that I visited the one at the South end of Monivong Boulevard - around 2003
Puppy Soup, crazy live band of Koreans girls with a drummer that reminded me of Animal from the Muppets, giggling waitresses and lots and lots of booze.
Always a fun and unusual night out

I said, You realise the girls are not allowed outside the restaurant in case they try to escape ?
I don't agree with that, he responded with feeling, It's not right !
Then after a pause he added, But maybe they have rooms inside that you can take the girls to ?

Just to add to what some posters have already noted, I taught three North Korean students at the (delightfully named - no smutty jokes, please!) Banana Center in 2001 or thereabouts. They were in two different classes, but were easily the best students in their respective classes - highly intelligent, polite and extremely cooperative.
I fondly remember them as among the brightest students I have ever taught.
