The air is filled with their beautiful tunes at the moment.
I've always meant to ask someone when the nesting/hatching season is. Pigeons seem to be at it all the time but what about other birdies?
Hanno will know.

It is still a bit early but birds are certainly starting to look for territories soon. Most birds in Cambodia will start breeding from the mid-dry season to the beginning of the wet season to coincide with increased food supplies.

I was thinking that but if the wee chicks get rained on before they are fully feathered won't it endanger them?
It's tropical spring innit. My duck's eggs hatched and now lots of little fluffy cheep-cheeps are out and about. Need to keep the bastard dogs from getting to them.
Hopefully decent roasts coming in July and August.

In the tropics, breeding season is more dependent on wet or dry seasons; not so much spring in the classical sense.

A fair point, and suppose it varies between species. But my chickens (who do lay all year) have gone into overdrive, as have the ducks (8 hatched yesterday). Even the turkey's having a go. The geese should also start soon (breeding season for them starts in February).
Hopefully a decent BBQ will be called for in a few months.

^ Have you got any more photos of the turkey having a go?
I've been trying to crack one out to normal porn all morning but it just doesn't work anymore

Well, domesticated species would be behaving very differently, what with an assured food supply.
And I will pass on the Turkey porn, thank you....
