I was wondering the the other day about whether living here for so many years has made me more fatalistic or not.
It's not really something we are brought up to believe in in the West, even with many of those of a religious bent. But most underdeveloped countries I have been to seem to thrive on it. Not surprising really.
I would have to say I am becoming more and more so as my tenure in these parts increases in length.
How about you?
Has Living in Cambodia Made You More Fatalistic?

What do you mean by Fatalistic ?
Most of my family in Cambodia tend to accept what ever comes their way, be it good or bad.
As an example: They won't argue with an official who is withholding something they are entitled to, they tend to shrug their shoulders and say it was expected so I'll accept it.
Whereas my family in Oz would be going for blood and trying to tear out the officials heart and roast it on a BBQ.
I've learnt to accept many of the road blocks put in front of me in Cambodia and no longer get all upset about it, small matters don't aggravate me in the way they used to.
However I don't let big issues slide which often causes embarrassment to the wife.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.
