Company policies with CoVid-19
We need to decide what to do in the company with regards to CoVid-19 and daily operations.
Do we maintain business as usual, or close offices, etc? What are others doing? Cambodians as a whole seem pretty concerned about this, way more so than the expats. Perhaps as we have better access to healthcare (we can afford Royal Phnom Penh, for example, or Western medical advice).
I know all the schools have closed. How will the TEFLs that live paycheck by paycheck survive?

Didn't someone mention that people with fever signs were not being accepted at the private hospitals. I think it was Alexandra. They can't risk fucking up their business model just to save lives. The very idea!!Miguelito wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 7:54 amWe need to decide what to do in the company with regards to CoVid-19 and daily operations.

It will likely be Russian hospital if you get a fever. People should be OK if they don't have any underlying health issues and aren't over 80. I was reading a recent study in the Lancet which said people with high blood pressure are possibly the most at risk.
It's fairly obvious that you close all offices and try to set up remote working.
Isolate and trace.
Up the workers!
Not all schools have closed. Private schools have the option to stay open but need to take the necessary precautions. However, this could change if the situation worsens.
If you have staff that can work from home, they should be already.
Front line staff no such luck- but you definitely want masks/sanitizer policies in place. Perhaps the government will lock down other industries in future, so keep an eye on that also- what’s your business continuity plan in such an event?
Most interesting action I’ve seen so far is MonkiFit gym which has the receptionists squirting sanitizer on all member hands on entry- no soap dodgers. This fairly small step probably helps. I see a lot or sanitizer around, but it’s always optional - given there’s usually 1/4 (probably worse here) of blokes not washing their hands after even having a piss, mandatory is a good option.

This does surprise me. If any one gets the virus in the private schools their reputations, just like the private hospitals, will be fucked. In Vietnam all grade 9 and under schools have been shut for nearly three months. They just extended the ban for two more weeks. Someone told me even the grade ten schools are being closed now.

You should check in with Chuck Wow (in person if possible ) He has implemented a sensible plan for his office, that has now been rolled out regionally with his company.

It was the positive diagnoses of the principal of Canadian International School and his sons that likely sparked off the closure of all schools.kungfufighter wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 10:34 amIf any one gets the virus in the private schools their reputations, just like the private hospitals, will be fucked.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
EU based, I sent all my staff home, to work from home. I am in the office myself, to take care of items which can not be done from remote and definitely need to be done now.
