I also think it's a well known fact that a large percentage of americans dont own passports, and think Central America is Kansas....Dorothy.
Us good ole Brits tend to be capable of a more worldly view. We travel better. For your average Texan, Texas is probably the center of the universe. Whereas you everage guy from Basildon probably doesn't think that Essex is the center of the universe.
Or maybe we just have more degenerates.
As a percentage, only 45% of Americans have a passport, but given the population size, you have almost 149,000,000 Americans with passports.
The 45% feels low to me, but I'm from NYC so maybe it's skewed.
250,000 'Muricans visit Cambodia every year
1 China 2,024,443
2 Vietnam* 800,128
3 Laos* 426,180
4 Thailand* 382,317
5 South Korea 301,770
6 United States 250,813
We already know more Americans are in Cambodia, just that less of them are likely to end up poor on the streets relative to Brits.
I would venture a guess that more of the American travelers are older white males who tend to have some more money available which they spend buying their Cashier girlfriend a Water Buffalo and sending grandma medicine. They would still have social security coming in monthly so can get back home after they've run out of funds.
