All these tweaks are great. But what's your plan going forward for traffic - the place is still dead. A "build it and they will come" approach isn't really enough.

Restrictions on real life social activities has shown an increase in activity on many forums, social media sites and general online activity as a whole, actually. But my comment was more out of interest as to how Alexandra proposed to inject some life back into K440. Child-like smiley face like button graphics and ease of uploading media is all well and good but the fact is since the take-over, and the acquisition of the Facebook page, there hasn't been any real increase in traffic as far as I can tell.
She's a smart girl, so I was interested how she intends to get new members.

Traffic hasn’t been much of a priority. In my opinion there is no point in breaking my back building traffic.
Hitting 2,000-2,500 users in a 6 hour window period can be done with a couple of Facebook posts. I am not necessarily interested in this type of clickbait behavior.
Of course there are things being done but none which I want to discuss at this stage. In my opinion we are still resolving problems that should have been resolved years ago.
At this stage I am more interested in defining our standards and more importantly repair our reputation.
I think that diversity is important, and while some vocal fools like ricecakes is decrying every change, let’s look at our main forum competitor. We don’t need to travel back many pages in their search results to find some good examples:
In my opinion, we are miles ahead of this type of moderator practices. We don’t disallow links to CNE, one of the largest English language websites in Cambodia. We don’t ban links to BitTorrent trackers. We don’t have admins and mods “clarifying” when posters speculate and we certainly don’t need to edit their words to make posters more comprehensible.
I think that we are better off without this type of micromanagement. We provide more freedom for our users regardless of the popularity of our forum.
My intention is not to compete with the most amount of posters that can create the most amount of pages. To be honest I don’t really care.
I want to fill the vacuum that exists since the closure of the free press. I can only fill this vacuum by providing freedom.
We are the only true free and independent platform in Cambodia and that to me is more important than posts per month.
If we are talking numbers, our Facebook group is larger and more popular than our largest forum competitor. Our Facebook page has a wider reach than theirs. The same goes for Twitter. After 4 or so years they are still just a forum.
Khmer440 has a long roadmap ahead of it.

While I can admire the intentions, I'm not sure why the particular case that was dragged out needed to be aired again. Was it because a certain poster claimed blatant bias and kept bringing it up again and again as an example of censorship? The incident seemed quite tawdry and entertaining when it was posted but at the same time it was inconsequential and I don't see the point in it now. I'm lucky enough to have kept a very clean profile over the years, knowing Peter taught me that.

Did Peter teach you that part of having a clean profile includes double dutching with a couple of ladyboys.....Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 10:42 pmI'm lucky enough to have kept a very clean profile over the years, knowing Peter taught me that.

Yeah, I have managed to avoid doing anything like that. I really meant knowing how he'd crucify anyone online if he was in a snot and had a chance to.

Grawlix,
You seem to have a lot of shit on your liver, why is that ?
Why do you always try to embarrase other posters and make yourself appear superior to them.
Yes, we all have dirt on most, if not all long term expats.
But is it really relevant in today's Cambodia?
Where is the value in most of what you post ?
More than happy to discuss this online with you.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.
