So it was mishmash. He sounds like a real gun nut. Why would anyone carry a gun in Phnom Penh, just asking for trouble.
Remember the Frenchman who robbed the bank with the alleged Glock. What was his name, the garage proprietor?
Francois Chateau.

If you were to make a list of all the fucked up, retarded, inept, stupid shit you shouldn't do on the roads, that would actually turn out to be the Cambodian handbook on how to drive.

It has nothing to do with what movies one grew up with. It has to do with one thing only: are you a fucking dense moron? The answer in this case is clearly a big YES.

People who are into gun culture understand that you don't pull out a gun unless you intend to shoot someone. This person has no idea about gun culture, he's just a silly twat who thought teaching English to some military guys meant he could get away with threatening people with guns.

My brother in law, a tuk-tuk driver, told me once that Brits are the main tourist that like to go out to the shooting range, followed by Aussies. For Brits, you it has to be the lack of access we have to guns - even our police rarely carry them. I can see how exciting the prospect of handling one is, but buying one, keeping it at home and then waving it around in public is just shameful. Hate to say it, but this guy deserves a hefty sentence. Imagine it had gone off and had hurt someone.

This. Carrying a gun is a massive responsibility that does not mix with booze. Brandishing a gun over a $10 bar tab? Come on.

I still do not understand how 1994's classic film Pulp Fiction is a causal factor or even justifies violent behavior from an alcoholic in a third world country over ten bucks.

Like most gun-toting owners, their firearms are a manifestation of their sexual inadequacies. Hope they throw the book at this sad little git.

I didn't think he would be away for long, is there a precedent for a foreigner illegally owning a gun and threatening people while intoxicated?
