Floridian plumber James Olejniczak arrested outside US Embassy for outstanding warrant in the USA
Cambodia News English is reporting that American James Edwin Olejniczak ("Oley") was arrested outside yesterday the US Embassy by local police.
Olejniczak is a plumber from Boynton Beach, Florida who is wanted for failure to appear in a Florida court on charges of Driving Under the Influence and Assaulting a Fireman/EMT.
CNE is reporting that he was arrested at the request of the U.S. embassy. I suspect he was called into the embassy for an interview or went into the embassy for passport services. Embassy staffers then revoked his passport and leaked that information to Cambodian police so they could arrest him for immigration violations as he exited the embassy. Next the will deport/extradite him to the USA, even though Cambodia and the USA have no extradition treaty.
I'm looking into whether he is wanted on any more serious crimes in Florida, because although punching a fireman is a felony, it's not the sort of crime for which Uncle Sam is normally gung ho to chase down fugitives in Cambodia and get them deported back to the USA. The U.S. government tends to be more aggressive hunting down drug traffickers and sex offenders.

Yep, I'd say there's more to this story than meets the eye. Perhaps the people harmed by this loser have the right connections.

He will probably fight extradition claiming being sent to Florida now constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. Then start a go fund me page.
Freedom is not a state. It is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau.. Freedom is a continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.-John Lewis
He’s 47, I suppose he was dressed like a 16 year old skateboarder as a disguise

I've looked into his criminal record in Palm Beach county.AceFrehley wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 7:57 pmYep, I'd say there's more to this story than meets the eye. Perhaps the people harmed by this loser have the right connections.
He was arrested a few times for possessing marijuana, dealing marijuana, and petty theft about 10-12 years ago.
He's got a prior drunk driving conviction and is a habitual offender of driving on a suspended license.
His landlord sued him for eviction due to unpaid rent in the middle of last year.
In August, he was arrested for drunk driving and spitting on a cop, a felony. He posted bail and jumped bail and fled to Cambodia.

Which is the felony, DUI, or spitting on a cop - the latter, I guess?gavinmac wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 12:04 amIn August, he was arrested for drunk driving and spitting on a cop, a felony. He posted bail and jumped bail and fled to Cambodia.

If a toothless guy can't get drunk on Natty Ice and spit on people in Florida, where can he do it?

He had a mandatory court appearance on December 13, which he skipped and then fled the country.
This is what a Florida man dresses like when he's hiding out in Cambodia trying not to attract attention to himself.
And he keep updating his public Facebook status, of course.

As a correction, he wasn't arrested in Florida for "dealing" marijuana. He was arrested for possession with intent to distribute.
