I would imagine there are are quite of few of us touring cyclists who are stuck in places they never imagined. At any one time there was approximately 1000 intercontinental cyclists on the road over the last couple of years. I know one guy is stuck in the Peruvian Andes and I am sure there are more in SAmerica. I met three different individuals in Morocco who were all cycling south into Africa, I doubt very much that they are still on the road but also doubt that they managed to get flights home.
PS I didn't watch the video.

Part of me wishes that i carried on cycling west after Nepal, but it would have meant taking a plane. Would have been fucking great going through the little Stans, then through Europe, and the thrill of stealth camping.
Plus, i think my heart went out of it somewhat on the bonkers Indian roads, and my wife got clipped by a car in Vientiene, came off and suffered some road rash on her face (which since healed up completely!), and a swollen knee. If something bad happened i'm not sure i would have forgiven myself, seing as it was all my stupid idea.
She's a duracel bunny as far as work gos now, so all good, and some great memories.
That combination of the alive feeling you get with exercise, and travel.

Alastair Humphreys left the UK for Oz in the summer of 2001. He made it to Turkey by September and had to reconsider his plans to traverse the middle east as he had originally envisioned.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

We cycled from Moreh, India to Janukpur, Nepal on the last 2 legs of our journey. wonder how many of them that would be in the Stans?
The road to Siliguri was without doubt the most dodgy stretch of road we travelled on, what with the road works and only one side of the road in use. Busses coming at us full speed.
Is Horace still cycling during lockdown?

^^ Have only just been let out of the house to exercise for an hour a day and after 7 weeks of doing nothing other than a bit of yoga I am very unfit. I have started cycling again but only being allowed to go 4k, east, north n west is very boring. However, just being able to do that plus walking around in the sunshine on the beach has done wonders for my spirit and mental health.

I've been thinking that i actually quite like abit of isolation, but not keen on forced isolation i guess.
Although, i'm house sharing at the moment, which when combined with high rents and lockdown can have it's moments where you wish you were living off grid in Alaska. Like when some of your food gets eaten in the fridge for example.
My Dad's got a mate up the pub who evidently is abit of a nutter.
Evidently when he was house sharing years ago, he got fed up with his food getting eaten, so he went and got some common variety garden snails, chopped them up and put them in the spag bog sauce in the fridge.
Anyway, i digress..
The local pub nearby had a delivery of spuds when my wife passed it the other day (true, not an Irish joke).
But from what i've read online the pubs might have to follow certain rules with regards to distancing?
Might as well stay at home if you have to sit 2 mtrs away.
Construction sites back on Monday i think.
Things slowly returning imho.
