Hi. First time poster here. I thought I'd better share my recent experience with the Cambodian embassy in London. I was trying to get a visa to return to Cambodia and knew about the health insurance requirements, COVID 19 test etc. However, I have been informed that without an offer of employment in Cambodia, I will be unable to get a Visa. This is a real bummer especially for my friend whose wife in Cambodia is due to give birth in a couple of months.
Had anyone else heard about this as this was new to me? I wasn't planning on working and I'm assuming it's pretty bloody difficult to get a job offer in Cambodia currently especially as I'm also assuming most of the schools/universities are closed.
The only Visas currently being issued by Cambodian Embassies are the A (Diplomatic), B (Official), C (Courtesy), K (Special) and E (Ordinary - also referred to as "Business") Visas.
All of these Visa types require Justification and necessary supporting documentation. Supporting documentation varies from Embassy to Embassy and often differs based on the applicants Nationality.
For the E-type Visa you require supporting documentation related to employment ie. Letter of Invitation & Offer of Employment, Employment contract, Work Permit, Business License, etc.
Embassies will also issue E-type Visas to foreigners who are legally married to Cambodian Citizens and/or have children who are Cambodian citizens, Official Cambodian Marriage Cert and/or Children's official birth certificates are accepted as supporting documentation.
No T-type (Tourist) Visas are being issued, no e-Visas (electronic online tourist visa), no Visas on Arrival and no Visa exempt entry (ASEAN passport holders).
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
