I came across a phase the other day that I had not seen before, 'Internalised Racists'.Felgerkarb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 5:30 pm
Much like some American blacks refer to other blacks that do not adhere to some form of black culture as Uncle Toms as they "act white". What they really mean is they embrace a different culture that is not part of their group cultural identity.
It was used to describe several black commentators speaking out against the rioting and looting going on in the US under the name of George Floyd.
Because these outspoken black commentators were saying GF was not their role model, their martyr, then they were not real Black People, because they were 'Internalised Racists'
At which point I just thought WTF and opened a beer.

You should release a diss track about Khmer440. It could kickstart your promising rap career. I think with your widely developed vocabulary you could really take their breath away.
Hey she declined (translated from rap "denied") many interviews! She must be important! You should feel honoured to have her reply to your insulting garbage!
Go get'em girl!
Go get'em girl!
Don’t worry about this Lisha, she had her phone jacked by the UK dreadlocks guy. Was a thread about it here or TOF
She was talking tough but never did anything about it, said she’s sending “homies” out

This is nonsense, any dark-skinned immigrant who is not a part of what you call black culture can freely use the n-word while a light-skinned immigrant from the same country and culture would be attacked for doing so.Felgerkarb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 5:30 pmI generally believe people confuse race and culture, and that is the root of modern society's current issues.
In black culture, it is acceptable to use the n-word. If you are NOT part of that culture, or accepted as a member of it, you cannot use the word. It really isn't a color thing.
(The only ways to make your statement work would be 1, the rather racist notion that all black people have the same culture or 2, dark-skinned immigrants into the USA instantly adopt traditional black American culture)
This is absolutely about the skin color of the person uttering the word.
It's not only blacks who say that, according to Biden "you're not black if you vote for Trump"Much like some American blacks refer to other blacks that do not adhere to some form of black culture as Uncle Toms as they "act white". What they really mean is they embrace a different culture that is not part of their group cultural identity.
In today's culture war though its mostly used by Democrat operatives to vilify successful black people with the wrong opinion like Candice Owens, Ben Carson and Kanye West.
Personally I find the notion that if you don't adhere to the dominant groupthink you are a race traitor rather fascist. [/quote]
There is no such thing as an common Asian identity, even in the US, neither is there an Asian race.Same with Asians calling Asians that do not seem to practice some sort of Asian cultural identity "bananas" (yellow on the outside, white on the inside).
Reminds me of an experiment we set up a couple of years ago:
You take 5 typical looking people from Nigeria, Holland, Iran, Bangladesh and Japan and let people guess which three of those belong to the same race.
The confusion en sometimes downright fear of saying the wrong thing on the faces of 90%+ of respondents who didn't get what we were doing was priceless.
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Super stoked to say Racist is something my half breed ,well travelled kids will ever be. Apart from the fact they started life in the melting pot that is Cambodia and have lived in several different other countries and had a Russian and then a Jamaican tutor in Hanoi for three years who was so black she made black look grey....they currently school and play with kids from all over the world / of mixed parentage - as well as being at the frontline of indigenous society - here in the NT. They have indigenous learning topics at school and we have travelled out to far flung remote aboriginal communities and they are seeing it all( with the good and bad that brings ).
I look at my own childhood growing up in White Australia of the 70s and shudder. My father ( 90 ) and brother ( 62 ) are as racist as they come (which is weird because they are my wife's biggest fans and have travelled to Cambodia and loved it ). I always laugh at the irony in the fact my father would watch the Channel 9 news in the late 70s when the "Kampuchean" boat people were arrving in Darwin harbour by the thousands fleeing Pol Pot and he'd be fuming "FUCK OFFF BACK TO ASIA YOU YELLOW BASTARDS" and yet.....I went on to marry a Cambodian and now live in .....Darwin where I am now meeting some of those very boat people . I mean - what a twist !
I had the good (??) fortune of being sent to a GPS school in Sydney and then went on to stay at the oldest on-Campus college at Sydney University and I can tell you.....there are no greater breeding grounds for racism than those kinds of instutions. At college we would go on bus piss ups and 60 young white guys would be singing
Down in Alabama where the naggers cut the grass....a nagger shoved his cutter up another naggers arse
Said the foreman to the nagger...you're here to cut the grass and not to shove your cutter up another naggers arse
Manyana Manyana.....Manyan is good enough ro me....
etc etc and on it went.
None of us really gave any thought to WHAT we were actually singing. it was just taught to you by the older guys.Fuck me dead you would get expelled now for singing that if they caught you. Were there any black kids at the college ? Fuck no. Thatg has probably changed but back then....no way.
I can't say i dont make the odd disparaging remark about aboriginals and lebanese but at the end of the day its really just talk and my door would be open if really needed. OK maybe not the front door.....maybe the door to the shed.
