^Funny you should say that, Rice. A few of us have been kicking around the idea of hiring teachers directly and setting a program we make ourselves for a group home school project.

If it wasn't for the fact that to try do the same thing here in Australia would be probitively expensive - whilst inversely really great public shools are totally free here in Darwin - i would go back to that model in a heartbeat. Highly recommend it. Obviously getting the right tutor is key but there nust be tonnes gagging for work in PP. I always thought LL would make a great tutor apart from the fact you kenna understand a word he is saying half the time

Have been thinking about this, too. Lots of online resources for teachers these days. I think the tricky thing is finding other kids of the same age / grade. Most of my friends have kids who are a year or two older or younger - not sure if that would work.Felgerkarb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 8:42 am^Funny you should say that, Rice. There is a passionate and knowledgable history for speakers of other languages teacher I would recommend. No idea if they’d be interested though.Felgerkarb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 8:42 am^Funny you should say that, Rice. "history for speakers of other languages" -- Is that a history teacher for people that speak other languages (which languages)?violet wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:13 amThere is a passionate and knowledgable history for speakers of other languages teacher I would recommend. Wouldn't it be a bit hard for the pupils to understand if they speak a different language to the teacher?Miguelito wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:17 am"history for speakers of other languages" -- Is that a history teacher for people that speak other languages (which languages)?violet wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:13 amThere is a passionate and knowledgable history for speakers of other languages teacher I would recommend. That explains a lot about the people we see coming here from Down Under...slavedog wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:35 amWouldn't it be a bit hard for the pupils to understand if they speak a different language to the teacher?Miguelito wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:17 am"history for speakers of other languages" -- Is that a history teacher for people that speak other languages (which languages)?violet wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:13 amThere is a passionate and knowledgable history for speakers of other languages teacher I would recommend. What happened to a certain South African longtime TEFLer and red wine aficionado?
Like i said - my kids are 3 years apart and they schooled together every day in the same room just with different lessons . Upshot was my son was picking up on the maths and english of his older sister when the whiteboard was being used. It is totally doable.slavedog wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:13 amHave been thinking about this, too. Lots of online resources for teachers these days. He was banned like the rest of us by some kind of israeli extremists. We wait and watch.monkey in silk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 10:30 amWhat happened to a certain South African longtime TEFLer and red wine aficionado?
I miss Vlad, too.
You are talking lemons and potatoes. Home schooling is extremely advantageous when done properly. Trying to piece meal kids together without the same level can not work. Any kind of internet schooling will only depend on the student and parent. Either you find a regular pattern and form of education in a regime that is consistent, or you risk losing the upper education factor and what it entails.ricecakes wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 10:39 amLike i said - my kids are 3 years apart and they schooled together every day in the same room just with different lessons . There are different ways out there to do it, but as a parent you have a responsibility also.

Well to be honest I had thought of him when wondering about the others. People like him have a family to support. It's got to be tough.monkey in silk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 10:30 amWhat happened to a certain South African longtime TEFLer and red wine aficionado?
