At last, one of those country comparisons in which Cambodia actually does ok.
Since 1969, average life expectancy in Cambodia has increased 27 years from 42 to just below 70.
It would be interesting to see the figure decade by decade. I’m sure there would be some stutters in that growth.

I bet the diabetes rate has also gone up on a similar curve as calorie intake has improved.

In 2000 the life expectancy was 54, that might give you some idea.
I was talking to a Cambodian in 1994 that worked at the Capitol Guest house. He was saying that he was old at about 38 years age.
