% of arriving flights having a Covid 19 positive passenger??
% of arriving flights having a Covid 19 positive passenger??
I know a few flights have arrived in Phnom Penh with some passengers testing positive (I have heard of 2-3 such flights). Does anyone have (reliable) knowledge as to the percentage of arriving flights that have had someone test positive upon arrival?
depends solely on how many overprice quarintine rooms they have currently vacant and not paying the extortion fees
All new cases are announced by the MoH and reported via the Media, a little searching and you'd be able to work it out. Percentage wise would be fairly low. Most have been from repatriation flights, of which non-Cambodians have also been permitted to also purchase tickets for, at their own risk.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Statistically the more Cambodians there are on a flight the higher the risk. Since they have the absurd policy of demanding the 72 hours pre-flight test from foreigners only.
It's not that absurd as Cambodians have the right to come back to Cambodia whatever state they are in. A foreigner asking to be a guest has no such right so they can be selective.
Yes and no. When foreigners do get the opportunity to fly on Cambodian Government organized repatriation flights, then they should know and accept the risk.
When there is a 20-50% chance infected Cambodians are on regular/scheduled commercial flights, then it starts to become deliberate exposure of people to infectuous deceases. Accidents/Incidents can happen, though this is falls no longer in that category and the Cambodian Government should better take care of their visitors. i don't think, even returning Cambodians do have the right to infect other people on an airplane. It's just a humanitarian item, but alas, there are quite a lot of people earning big bucks from these quarantines .....
Given flights from Malaysia and Indonesia are now "forbidden" by the Cambodian government, it does look, these "repatriation" flights aren't repatriation flights, though just regular commercial flights.
Since it regularly does take only a couple of weeks to recover from Covid-19 (and health care abroad is "somewhat" better then in Cambodia) the infected Cambodians are better of to heal abroad then at home.
Over in under 24 hours as everybody tested negative.
One more year without tourists and Cambodia will be on their knees.
They are already on their knees...
I live in Siem Reap...The haves are scrambling to sell land or extra houses..Their businesses are empty of customers and their inventory sits.....
A typical Khmer has a loan of some type they thought they would be caught up on.
Tourists?
Where do the tourists get money next year to come? The chinese plague has killed their job drained their accounts...These were the folks who may have come next season...
Stores that sell clothes and shoes are closed and old inventory sits...orders cancelled .
So, the factories here will not be getting new orders.
The people that took out loans to prepare for the tourists are screwed and may lose family land.
If they did have some gold it is a good time to sell.
But, selling your gold means you are tapped out and have no other options.
My tuk tuk guy showed up with a 7 year old and an 18 month old and asked me if it was ok because his pregnant wife had a Doctor's appointment.
My wife keeps getting calls from every person or relative she knows or has and they all have a story about needing money.
I told her she better stop answering or learn to say no.
I gave my passport to my travel agent a few days ago and paid the extra to get it back before this pseudo holiday next week.
I read something about a new retirement visa requirement of proof of income.
So, if my extension is held up and then I have an issue getting my document from the US my visa could expire on the 31st and I will be in a real pickle..
Things were so much simpler just a year ago.

I’m sure I speak for many when I say that would be a real shame.
Hen Sen and minsters must feel the pressure.
