The place where I live has a security man outside the front gate 24/7, there's like a bus shelter thing set up on the pavement to protect them from the elements. A week or 2 ago the nightwatchman changed to a new guy.
I have noticed though that he seems to sleep in the bus shelter along with his wife and son, they string up a tarp and get under that. Do you think these people are homeless? Or just a loving family who want to spend as much time as possible with dad?
It is affecting my life a bit as I no longer feel I can come home late because I have to wake up an entire family to get the guy to unlock the gate. If they are homeless I'd be prepared to give them a bit of cash to get a place to stay till his paychecks start rolling in. How much cash would it take?
Is the security guard homeless?
Yes, they're homeless. How much it would take would depend on what part of town you're in and the familiy's personal circumstances. You could ask him?

Definitely seems like PP is going backwards ( I am not there as most of you know ) . However, I have heard stories of families sleep in the parks again. Are little shanty villages appearing in abandoned buildings n rubbish heaps?
k440, something to do when you're pissed.
I have no idea what someone like that would earn, I know it won't be much. But surely there must be some room somewhere that they can afford on any salary? I was thinking he might be on his arse but just got this job and waiting for that first payday.
I wasn't planning to sponsor them long term, just give him $100 or $200 to get them somewhere to stay until his pay starts flowing.
He doesn't speak any English and I don't want to ask the staff in case I get him in any shit. They might think I'm complaining about the family being there and tell them to piss off.
If he stays somewhere else he is no longer 24/7 security and will be replaced by somebody who is.
It’s best not to interfere. If he had a better opportunity he would take it.

On a side, how is the abandoned old amusement park lot in PP doing? There were a few posessive squatters there. Has it filled up more?
Keep in mind things aren't so cut and dry.

I meant so he could put a roof over his kid's head. It's sad seeing him just sat there on a bench all day with fuck all to do then sleeping rough at night.
Although I might be a bit miffed if I give the guy $200 and he keeps the kid sleeping rough.
You're probably right thought to just leave it alone.
I don't know about your financial situation or how often you stay out late but if it were me I'd probably give him five bucks every time I wake him up.

Security guards get paid a pittance. It's the sort of job you get your relation who is a bit soft in the head or useless, but in the right spot they can earn a bit extra in parking tips to make it bearable - if they allowed to keep tips. Crap parking in the center can be a goldmine. As often as not the spaces are run by military types. The twat who runs the car park behind where I work is typical. His family live around some of the awnings around the car park, in hammocks and what not. Before CORVID I estimated he was taking in about $500 a day, much less since. Not sure how much he collects but he's normally drunk and absolutely useless for security. When someone who worked in the building left an iPhone in the back of a Tuktuk near the gate about a year back he tried to get a ransom of $100 for "someone he knew" who had it. When we checked the cameras of course it was him who had "found" it. This twat has a few stripes when he gets dressed up too.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
What are we talking here? Ballpark
Pay is quite variable on experience whether or not he is working for a contractor, years of experience, quality of the employer, and whether he is a member of the army or police (can carry a gun). If he's young and without a gun then maybe $100 - $150 per month.

How much is school ? You pay school, the kid get occupation, the money doesn't go elsewhere, the mother can go look for money.
