Disney movie at cinema with horror movie trailers
I took my 8 year old to watch Mulan and the trailers were like Freddie Krueger levels of horror. They were even shitting me up tbf. Is it normal to put violent/terrifying cert-18 trailers before kids films?
It’s PG13 so what do you expect.

Pay your money takes your chance.
Have seen kids of 5 and 6 in movies clearly 18+ ...parents don't give a fuck (they spend half the movie on the phone) and cinemas just want cash
It's shit. That's why I download.

I went to watch IT when it came out at Aeon. I couldn't believe the number of adults who brought their young children to see it, particularly as I knew in the first 5 mins a child had its arm ripped off. As the scene happened several parents could be seen grabbing their screaming traumatised children and heading for the exit. Quite what they thought they were going to see and why the staff didn't tell them it might not be appropriate was lost on me.

Well on the same note I remember way back having cable TV here and noticing how many channels played random mixes of dramas and horror movies and cartoons at any time of the day. You could watch Chuckie and Rey Mysterio while sipping on your ice milk coffee on any corner at 7 AM.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
You're expecting Khmers to give out advice to western parents?????Pennywise wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 10:28 pmI went to watch IT when it came out at Aeon. Very true, it always made me laugh that they would show extremely violent movies in the daytime with quite graphic scenes but swearing was cut out as were any sex/nude scenes but having someones head explode at 10am was fineLucky Lucan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 10:44 pmWell on the same note I remember way back having cable TV here and noticing how many channels played random mixes of dramas and horror movies and cartoons at any time of the day. When IT came out they were running it all hours of the day and the ads would run all the time. I saw several scared kids at the food section of Aeon 2 where the cinema ads are running above.

There used to be someone with their finger on the fast forward button so anytime something saucy came up they'd just zip through a few minutes and leave the viewer clueless as to what was going on.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 7:27 pmVery true, it always made me laugh that they would show extremely violent movies in the daytime with quite graphic scenes but swearing was cut out as were any sex/nude scenes but having someones head explode at 10am was fineLucky Lucan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 10:44 pmWell on the same note I remember way back having cable TV here and noticing how many channels played random mixes of dramas and horror movies and cartoons at any time of the day. Classic 2.0 with this electricity, we're all getting a bit soft.
Wow...this is what you call trauma?
Take the kids to see the Killing Fields tree with all the ribbons on it.
Or teach them about the Muslim death camps china has.

Not true, I took my kids to watch Deadpool, thinking it was a kids movie (my mistake). The staff at Legend, Exchange Square pointed out it was not suitable and we ended up watching something else instead.Kermode wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 9:44 pmThere is zero vetting here, no age certification .. nothing

The staff at Exchange Square are (from my experience) much better at dealing with this kind of thing.. much more so than anywhere else.slavedog wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 9:28 amNot true, I took my kids to watch Deadpool, thinking it was a kids movie (my mistake). I do agree with Kermode that cinema staff here do not give a shit - even down to them simply ignoring people live streaming the movie on their phone.
As for you you thinking Deadpool might be suitable for kids... well, maybe you should stick to mixing cocktails.
