'State of Emergency'/full lockdown
I haven't kept fully up with the news. Outside that Sihanoukville Red Zone, are casinos there still open?
Not sure if they have official permission, or just operating with some cash, a nod, and a wink, but someone told me that most open casinos in Cambodia all 2021, at least, have had mostly online punters and only a rare few gambling in person. Is Sihanoukville the same?

It seems to have been and still is, erratic... Some casinos were open ten days ago... But I saw one overseas Chinese or Korean gambler April 11, on Victory Hill, in a cafe, and he was commenting that he had just been turned away from a casino. He was lamenting not being able to satisfy his addiction, quite funny... So, some casinos, but not so many, were open until recently. I am positive everything will be shut in the red zone for sure... Lots of police in the city center just two days ago when I went to a grocery store; they were trying to stop traffic from flowing into the eastern city, where all the cases are... now everything is cut off in the center of town for sure...Guest9999 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 10:46 amI haven't kept fully up with the news. The Jakarta delegation, including Hun Sen. I am wondering whether they will go into 14 days quarantine, when they return into Cambodia ....
KT Jakara departure.
And I still don't get it, they want to pack together like this. The whole world does advise 1.5 m distance (even with masks) and they just flock together for a photo opp.

Facebookitis, the need to constantly show one's presence.
Add to that the Khmer need for showing off,and you have this.
It cretaed a problem when that Hungarian joker who looked down on Cambodia was here

From a different perspective, can we talk about Chinese hookers, the elephant in the room?
Fined? Their handlers fined? No information to date.
Does anyone know if you can get food into somebody in the red zone? And is there any way somebody in the red zone can get out by maybe getting vaccinated?
Unfortunately no. The whole point of the Red Zone is that nobody is allowed in or out.Red wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 8:45 pmDoes anyone know if you can get food into somebody in the red zone? And is there any way somebody in the red zone can get out by maybe getting vaccinated?
MIL is in red zone but luckily she’s next door to a bus parcel place.
Food parcel on way!

pew, pew, pew, pew!
Thanks for the feedback. Panda reckon they will deliver anywhere. I can pay with debit card. I reiterated twice and the "chatter" said " just place your order it will be ok. Anything else I can help you with?" Twice. I will try tomorrow. Standby.
The PM made an announcement last week that even though he and his entourage will have had their 2nd dose of the vaccine, they would all still be required to undergo the 14 days quarantine upon return to Cambodia.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

It;s a whole can of worms, but the big guy mentioned in a speech a few days ago that they couldn't prosecute those ladies, as the relevant laws had not been passed yet. Sounds rather disingenuous, I'm pretty sure they had mentioned big penalties before that and since when has the rule of law mattered when pretty much anyone can be prosecuted on jumped-up charges here when it suits the right people.wtf needs govt wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:46 pm

I haven't left my sangkat in a week. I'm not in a red zone, but there's a bridge with a block on it, I had to go up there this evening to pick up a food delivery, just after 8.00. Anyway, I would really like to go to Tuol Tom Pong tomorrow. I'm not really short of cash but could use going to an ATM as an excuse, or shopping. All I really need to do is cross 271. What are the chances that I can do this? I can bring ID but don't really have any proof of address. Would it be easier if I just got my friend to meet me at the barrier? Any ideas?

I had to venture out to get my second vaccine 2 days ago. Went from pillar to post as the first half dozen places had run out or had the other Chinese brand, so we passed through a lot of checkpoints. It was an interesting experience, which varied considerably depending on the individuals manning them. Most were pleasant and waved us through after checking our cards, but there were exceptions. I had one old geezer have a brain fade, splurting 'barang! barang!' until a young fella came over and waved us through. At another my wife had a stand-up row with one behaving like a cunt.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 11:12 pmI haven't left my sangkat in a week. So 'dunno' is my answer, but if you have problems, just walk further down to the next checkpoint. Head for young police/guards who aren't fazed by white skin.

That's the point, but it's not how it works in practice.Alexandra wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 8:51 pmUnfortunately no. I haven't managed to get groceries delivered but I have had some other deliveries.
Food panda is easiest. Nham24 will work if the restaurant is not to far away from the delivery address.
