Sorry, Ehlrich thinks the optimal population is between 1.5 and 2 billion... I can never remember numbers...

Doesn't sound very green to me. They're basically selling disaster-relief rations.
Bon appétit

Get yourself accounts on expertflyer.com and flightradar24.com. The free accounts do give sufficient info around the flights of "today" and/or recent past/future (depending whether it is a "future" oriented or "history" oriented website.Pooh Bear wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 6:54 pmHow reliable are flights nowadays? Would be a real bummer to reach the airport and find out your flight is cancelled or delayed. Can't imagine the taxi ranks are well manned. Anything coming is going by bus to the quarantaine hotels. Still see them turn up weakly at the one in our street, on average 3 to 4 busloads.
Get an impression how it works with FR24, and you'll notice that the status of the incoming flight to an airport is pretty relevant for the return flight.
FR24 gives you also an impression how easily the airline does cancel the flights you are interested in. It does require a paid account to look back for more than a week. Though it's some USD 40 or so. Cheaper than taxis at the moment.
Today, I passed 2 roadblocks by simply waving with my ATM card and saying:
"Ot loy", "Tow em", "Mean loy". No issues at all and got waved on friendly (no canes), the same on the return, without even having to stop.
Anyway, despite the government proclaiming the remainder of the USD 2K can be retrieved 17 days after arrival, the bank refused to pay back, because the government (Min Health) did not claim the money (yet). It seems, the government does claim the whole in one chop, because all the money was still in the temporary account.

Yeah, especially with all that fish/soy sauce. Think about getting that every 2 weeks, and you can start your own supermarket later on.Alexandra wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 2:15 pmJolly Green Giant wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 5:34 pm"The goods on sale today are lower than the market price. To be honest, I do think, that amount is far too high. I would say, maybe something like 100M-500M, or even less. The earth just needs more "space" to recover before the same resource is ready to be used again.
On the other hand, the more technology, the more diversification in technology, the more people you need to be specialized in a very detailed specific subject to be able to use that specialization. So, when the population goes down significantly, you start missing the manpower to properly specialize in all technologies.

What the hell is 'tow em'?
I suspect the waving of the bank card was sufficient.
The roadblock near my house was unmanned today and word quickly spread through the borey and members of about 30 households jumped on their Motos to go to the nearest open shops.

Yeah, another family member came to me around 19:00 to collect money, so they can buy food. They did have to pass 2 roadblocks, though were also allowed through in both directions.
Looks to me, as long as you aren't in recently Covid-19 hit and under guard area's, and you seem to be "local traffic", passing the roadblocks is feasible.
And also earlier today, I got "permission" to pass through a roadblock to get petrol ("Ot sang"). No further questions asked.

Never, ever heard it called that. You might want to check that.v12 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 8:27 pmGoto ATM.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 8:03 pmWhat the hell is 'tow em'?

Or maybe I just can't make sense of your transliteration.
Well, I neither, though I try to mimic the phonetics I hear from my family. They have a countryside background (fortunately no red-light stuff), so it could very well be, this is just "shorthand" speak instead of nice full sentences, as they learned at school.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 10:23 pm...

Not to say, for example the differences in pronunciation / phonetic writing of the Khmer word for "one".
Anyway, Khmers seem to appreciate, I do my best, they usually smile and seem to understand my attempts, despite probably sounding strange.

Red Zone for Sangkat 4 of Sihanoukville, basically the center of the city: April 13 to May 6... No in or out from this area, and I guess non-essential businesses are shut.

I'm not sure that has any statistical relevance as about 78% of American adults are obese anyway.hooplehead wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 10:11 amhospitalized or dead of corona, 78% were obese. (USA numbers)
