The only times I've felt sluggish from meat is when I've had a high percentage of body fat. The leaner I've been the less sluggish I've felt after a big meal for example.spitthedog wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 4:35 amDo you ever feel sluggish after eating meat though?
Anthony Joshua chooses to go vegan leading up to a fight. Now that is one big dude.
Then there's that famous German strongman vegan chap.
Nate Diaz, the MMA, Ironman, cardio champion.
Speculation of Johah Lomu getting kidney problems from excessive creatine??
It's not fair to compare yourself to professional athletes. Nate Diaz is a good example because he lashed out at the UFC by saying that they're all on steroids - indicating that he is too.
When you're injecting testosterone or growth hormone or eating Anavar or whatever the latest trend is you play in a different league than people who don't use the stuff. Somebody on gear doesn't lose as much if anything from caloric deficiency for a couple of days than somebody who's not on gear.
Creatine isn't going to cause kidney problems by itself. You don't get kidney problems from eating a lot of steak, pork, tuna or other types of food that contains high amounts of creatine. You could say that it was caused by a powdered supplement I guess but people normally supplement only around 5-10 grams of creatine per day. Considering a normal Whey shake is around 30 grams of powder per serving and gainers are around 300 grams of powder per serving it seems very unlikely that the small amounts of creatine powder would be the culprit.
Creatine is dehydrating so maybe Johah Lomu wasn't drinking enough water but that seems... ...stupid, utter foolish. It's more likely that he just had some underlying kidney problems. People develop chronic kidney disease without the help of creatine supplements. I'm not convinced that there's a correlation between them.
Googling about Johah Lomu and possible steroid use brings up this question on Quora. I have no idea if it's true or not but...
Back in the early years, he would get oral steroids from a friends dealer who imported them from Thailand. I personally witnessed this.
Oral steroids hit the kidneys very hard. The harsh truth of the matter is steroids may have contributed to his kidney disease and ultimately his death by heart attack.
