In the beginning of one of the videos that was published Dung was seen adjusting his phone to capture a better angle. It was a selfie movie.
A perfect example of what I mean. We have excellent posters like kinard and bipolar falling over themselves to try to believe that the guy was involved in the shooting of the video, despite there being no evidence of that. Worse - despite there being evidence he had nothing to do with the filming.
Sure, they can be corrected and they can correct themselves, but the misinformation is recycled and picked up, and built upon to the point that the best and most sensible poster on the forum - LL - is talking about ‘reporting this suspicious person to the authorities.’
All of which leads to whatever nonsense it was that Covid Dapperfield was talking about. I dunno - I gave up after the first paragraph.
Truth doesn’t matter. Facts don’t matter. Feelings and perceptions rule supreme, and beware anyone who questions a narrative which perpetuates itself by one poster saying ‘he should be killed’, followed by other posters besting him by saying ‘no, he should be killed twice - yay for me being righteous.’
Struik is guilty of several things. Loving a monster is one of them. Encouraging the boy to hand himself in to Vietnamese police when he should have gone to Cambodia police is another. Being self absorbed enough to expect a fair hearing here is a third. But saying this means he should be eradicated from the planet is just pathetic gesturing.
As for paying for the victim’s future. We don’t know whether he is or isn’t - he hasn’t answered the question. It would be good if he did something of course but to not do so would be a sin of omission, not a sin of commission.
