Potential Corruption Regarding AtsraZeneca Vaccine in Phnom Penh
Potential Corruption Regarding AtsraZeneca Vaccine in Phnom Penh
Obviously not surprising at all.
But I heard my wife (we don't live in Cambodia anymore) that her cousin who is 28 years old, got the AZ vaccine at Calmette, she just got her second jab a few days ago.
The cousin works for one of the companies owned by the family of late Deputy P.M. Not a high-status job, just one of the normal accountants. Makes about 300-400 a month.
No pre-existing conditions, no medical issues. Also said that every employee she works with (there are about 30 or so in her office) got the same jab.
Cousin claims she felt bad about getting it since it supposed to be for those over 60. Also commented how she could hear the medical staff at Calmette complaining about why so many young people were getting the AZ jab, especially since they (the medical staff) could only get the Chinese one.
30 people might not seem like a lot. But I would imagine this is not the only company the family is doing that for, and f they are doing that, there must be other families/businesses doing it as well.
Not surprising in the least, but does kind of make you wonder how many of those 324,000 jabs were given to similar people and what will happen to the rest of them.
BTW she is sure that it was the AZ one because they showed her the box and the vial it came from. She also needed to sign some piece of paper saying she received the vaccine.

Corruption in Cambodia? Perish the thought!
It's just connections, foresight and superior supply management skills.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

In .eu, AZ jabbing has been continued, after finding out the daily number of Covid-19 deaths would far outnumber the ones due to -potentially- the clots deaths.

Sometimes I feel the EU is determined to make a huge fuss about anything to do with the AZ vaccine simply because it's primarily a British vaccine.v12 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:56 pmThat's old news.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:50 amNobody want the AstraZeneca now mon - bloodclart and ting.

Russian propagandists are helping because they would prefer it if countries bought the Sputnik V instead.Starving Pelican wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 2:57 pmSometimes I feel the EU is determined to make a huge fuss about anything to do with the AZ vaccine simply because it's primarily a British vaccine.
Even a fervent Remainer like myself agrees with this. The EU has behaved appallingly here, sending up all kinds of smokescreens to divert attention away from its own cackhanded vaccine rollout campaign.Starving Pelican wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 2:57 pmSometimes I feel the EU is determined to make a huge fuss about anything to do with the AZ vaccine simply because it's primarily a British vaccine.v12 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:56 pmThat's old news.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:50 amNobody want the AstraZeneca now mon - bloodclart and ting.

Could be, though we should not forget, the EU did subsidize AZ significantly to develop the vaccine and did timely order massively at AZ. And, now, we see only a fraction of the AZ vaccines contracted getting delivered to the EU. Currently, roughly 25% is being delivered (or promised to be delivered) and that is only after massive EU interventions. So, the EU is angry, with good reason, I would say.
Granted, the UK did approve the AZ vaccine much earlier in just a wild guess action, largely ignoring the Third stage testing period. This could have gone wrong massively, though with Bojo in charge, the UK government gets away with largely everything, including the unnecessary 50K+ Covid-19 deaths, due to the initial denial of the situation.
The EU was much more hesitating with the AZ approval, understandable, since the EU "government" would not have been able to get away that easy with a mistake, like Bojo could. And even more understandable, given the conflicting effectiveness (and technical research errors) during the Third stage trials. The major continent AZ factory in .nl only just got qualified to produce the AZ vaccine for EU distribution, to give an idea.
The EU sent professional politicians to "negotiate" with private business rather than just approaching it as a purchase. Hopefully they will learn from this.
Now back to Cambo corruption.
Now back to Cambo corruption.
Are you serious ? How naive. You "purchase", when you spent USD 100 on little items.
You negotiate into the latest details, when you spent EUR 1B on vaccines, including delivery scheme, etc. Nothing wrong with that, it's how this world works.
Then you don't get what you want on time QED. Yes, I'm serious.
