Good for you. Everybody I know survives common colds but your ancestors struggled. Everybody is different, you know.
I survived cancer so it is harmless.

It's almost as if a single person's experience or the experience of some people he/she knows isn't representative of what should be expected for the entire population.Fred Edwards wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:50 amA friend of mine was on a bus and they told me they saw someone who ate some peanuts and then was taken to hospital put on a ventilator and then died. They estimated the person was probably in their early 20s and looked extremely fit.
We need to do something about peanuts as well as covid.
What are considered a tasty snack while drinking beer for some is a deadly killer for others.

Exactly, I don't know what the point of these individual testimonials are. Unless they promote the 'it's just a flu' narrative then they are rubbished.GMJS-440 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 6:33 amIt's almost as if a single person's experience or the experience of some people he/she knows isn't representative of what should be expected for the entire population.Fred Edwards wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:50 amA friend of mine was on a bus and they told me they saw someone who ate some peanuts and then was taken to hospital put on a ventilator and then died. For the Right-wing Lunatics, Covid-19 does not exist (until they die of it and even then, most are in denial). For the rest of the world, Covid-19 is a serious business, both to die from as well the long Covid effects.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 8:36 am....

I'll weigh in. @Fred Edwards likes to ridicule me for 'flapping' about covid but he has no idea of my personal experience.
I had a close friend die at the start of covid times, he had underlying health issues and died with a pretty miserable last few days for him and his family. Another, less close friend, was in ICU and his family were called to say goodbye to him. He made a remarkable recovery - but still has significant legacy issues. He is fairly young and is a similar age to me and was pretty healthy with an active lifestyle.
Everyone else I know had a different experience ranging from asymptomatic to a heavy flu.
I don't think I have ever known anyone to die or be hospitalised with flu (in 40 years). But in 2 years of Covid I've known half a dozen people be admitted to hospital, 2 to ICU and 1 die. I do have a very large circle of friends and acquaintances so the %ages are still low.
Same with peanuts. But a great parallel story Fred nonetheless.

I don't know what you are talking about. I scan read it again and didn't see anything glaring. But no doubt you will identify some insignificant errors.v12 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:24 amOh, please check your spelling, it's irritating to see so many errors popping up, in texts from a native. Oh, don't blame me, I did not start this spelling war.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 8:36 am....
