Fear of vaccination
Clots happening from AZ vaccine could not be further from the truth. It just so happens sometimes that the chip gets stuck, that’s all.

"Mr Morrison pointed out that the risk of the blood clots was only about four to six in a million.
This is far lower than the risk of clots among people taking the contraceptive pill (one in 2,000) or travelling on planes (one in 4,656 flights lasting over four hours). In fact, up to 30% of people who have COVID-19 will get thrombocytopenia, making the risk from the virus much higher"
The paranoia is getting ridiculous. Leaders need to step in and make some unpopular decisions.

Yeah, that happens in nanny states, nobody dares to decide the risk of a few deaths due to the vaccine under weights the death risk due to Covid-19 itself. They call it "ethics".ricecakes wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:20 amStruth.

Where Trumpie did do a lot of wrong, this type of decisions would be easy for him.
Agree with v12 and SP on this, the numbers are almost negligible and anyway, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
In fairness to the government here, (BTW - I hate this govt), it is not a medically driven pause, but rather an administrative one so they can update consent forms (an important process as shown in this thread, people have different levels of risk) for each of the different groups. I believe the program has started up again for over 50s..............v12 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:48 amYeah, that happens in nanny states, nobody dares to decide the risk of a few deaths due to the vaccine under weights the death risk due to Covid-19 itself. I hear there's a guy down at the Russian market selling COVID vaccinations for 2 bucks a shot.

Having said I am over it, I can understand that ‘they’ are trying to prevent a snowball growing among those that say no to the vaccine. Between a rock and a hard place. I think they did make a tough decision and were damned either way.

So they stopped a vaccine program aimed to save 0.2% of the population because it causes blood clots in 0.2% of the people that take it? Seems consistent to me.

If you're under the age of 30 your risk of dying from the Coronavirus is lower than the risk of dying from the Oxford vaccine according to UK health authorities.Starving Pelican wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 9:27 am"Mr Morrison pointed out that the risk of the blood clots was only about four to six in a million.
