Cash is King
It seems that this young chap has been very successful but doesn't know how to use a bank account.
He has pulled almost 5Million knicker out from down the back of the sofa to give to the red cross.
I think I remember him previously doing some photo ops with insane pile of notes. Doesn't he realise the convenience of AbA transfer???

I give you by right hand and will get it back by left with interest. Nothing is free in Cambodia.
That was when he donated $1,000,000 for Covid-19 vaccines.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:48 pmI think I remember him previously doing some photo ops with insane pile of notes.
Young Tycoon Donates $1m in Cash For Vaccine
Bong Burgundy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 11:53 amOkhna Leng Navatra, however, went a bit further and posted on his FB account of how he took $1 million (which seems to have been lying about his house) and drove it down to the bank and paid in cash to the donation.
Probably ghost money with a few dozen real notes on the end of the stacks for optics.
I've witnessed a few company sales done here using the same technique, with all the handshaking, signing and traditional pointing at things for the camera all using ghost cash and the real transfer done via wire

I don't think it's ghost money. The pictures are taken inside Sathapana bank and there's a cash counting machine in the background.Lazy feck wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 3:43 pmProbably ghost money with a few dozen real notes on the end of the stacks for optics.

I do agree though, the money probably never left the bank and was wired over. There's no picture of the Red Cross physically receiving it.
Imagine that being your job... Preparing $4,900,000 in cash for someone who just wants to take a picture of it. Maybe part of the missing $100,000 was tip for the big hassle...
The cash has been arranged in a 5x10 matrix. You can literally see in the top left corner where the $100,000 is missing from.
I agree with Miguelito. There was $5,000,000 and someone got $100,000.
It's lucky for him that he didn't go for a happy massage on the way to the bank.

It wouldn't surprise me if some of those $3 massage places had a couple mill of ghost money sitting around ready to be switched on some unaware okhna.
This guy is famous of doing this kind of stuff. He says it's good marketing for his business. He is self made millionaire. Selling land and property. And the kid is like 30 yo still, if not even younger. Nice guy though. Had the pleasure of meeting him few times. Really smart and not your typical cambodian way of thinking.

Anybody with land or property can sell it out. Does not seem to be any original way of thinking required to do that. Just connections...
Are you sure he isn't offloading toxic waste from China, Singapore, Australia or Europe for illicit disposal somewhere in an old Cambodian quarry or landfill? That's how a lot of Italians and Hong Kongers got rich in the UK, Germany, exporting and importing and burying toxic waste elsewhere...
Anyway, how do they ship all the new U.S. dollars originally from the U.S. government to the Cambodian treasury for distribution? By air or sea? Would be curious to know....

Hahaha, poor bank manager earned his commission stacking the cash for the elite makes a good yarn
Didn't notice it was in the bank earlier, fair point

So that's 49kg and change.
You'd need 2 guys to pull it off. Except if you're Felgs, obviously.

There was a scandal about toxic waste being dumped in Sihanoukville 20 years or so back. I think it may even have been radioactive. There was another one a few years back but those containers were sent back to Canada or wherever.Orichá wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 12:23 amAre you sure he isn't offloading toxic waste from China, Singapore, Australia or Europe for illicit disposal somewhere in an old Cambodian quarry or landfill? Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
