Have Authorities Stopped FB Group Posts?
I would think general posting activity would be high in FB Expat groups, given the situation, but there seems to be almost no activity suddenly as of yesterday/today other than some bimbo wanting a mani/pedi

No.
Not sure if you know how FB (and the internet) works but individuals (as in people who don’t work at FB) can’t delete, censor other people’s posts or stop people posting (unless they stop access to the internet).

But, if they are local "FB group admins," and obviously not working at FB, they can delete all they want. And they often do...

Khmer440 owns the Expats in Cambodia group (where “some bimbo” wanted a mani/pedi yesterday) and it’s extremely rare that we delete any posts. Unless they don’t get through the pre-moderation of course. Comments are deleted more often because they’re irrelevant, spam, over the top etc.
We have never received any legal requests for the group and there are no authorities involved in operations. The activity is fine. We saw a small decline over Khmer New Year but that’s expected, and since the lockdown started we have less posts about “where can I buy something” and more posts about online shopping, questions about the lockdown, and so on.
Below are some post statistics for the curious:
We try to have a very high tolerance for what members may post about. Of course we can’t be as free on Facebook as we are on the Khmer440 forum because Facebook has stricter rules and policies than our forum.
Since January this year, Facebook has deleted 20 comments made by users for violating their Community Guidelines. Facebook also removed 1 comment made by Khmer440.
I’ll throw in a growth chart as a bonus. Growth has slowed down a little since the travel restrictions went in effect.
We vet member requests and only allow “real” accounts to get through. Nigerian princes, cryptocurrency and Forex scammers are stopped at the door for quality reasons. Other groups let anybody in to boost membership numbers.

Using Facebook is like commiting suicide for your privacy. You get exploited, labeled and sold without ever receiving any compensation for it. How stupid mankind has become is mirrored by the amount of followers that FB has. Their business model is clear> Profiling and selling personal profiles to anyone who has cash. They don't get my consent and it's me who decides what i share with whom and of course if i do i want compensation for what i contribute as information. The same goes for all other (un)social media like Telegram,Whatsapp,Twitter.... endless. Perhaps someone will invent a button to delete FB alltogether.
Companies have been selling your personal info for decades. If you’ve ever had a bank, utilities, insurance, mortgage, owned a business, had your name anywhere and even an email linked to blogs, newsletters or Yahoo groups your details will be sold to the highest bidder.
The only difference now is it’s self perpetuating - FB etc sell your details, likes, follows etc and then those people advertise their products on FB.
Don’t think for a minute it’s been any different “when you were a lad” unless you live in a cave, or Grimsby.

Thank for that detailed post. I'd forgotten my deletion of a slew of Cambodia groups earlier in the day trying to eliminate those posts that iterate across dozens of groups, so this concords with that. Very helpful!Alexandra wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 12:58 pmKhmer440 owns the Expats in Cambodia group (where “some bimbo” wanted a mani/pedi yesterday) and it’s extremely rare that we delete any posts. Nah bruv, FB, the interwebs, and mods are all beyond my understanding. But if you give me your FB user name, I can tell you what time you wank your sausage every day, and what you watch whilst you do:
def getData(page, urlToConnect, startTime, filterStart, filterEnd):
posts = []
found = False
try:
while (True):
#print(url)
facebook_connection = urlopen(urlToConnect)
data = facebook_connection.read().decode('utf8')
json_object = json.loads(data)
#posts=json_object["data"]
allposts=json_object["data"]
allposts = np.asarray(allposts)
created = startTime
for i in range(0,100,1):
if (pd.to_datetime(allposts['created_time']) > pd.to_datetime(created)):
posts.append(allposts)
else:
print(" found date at this index: ", i)
posts.append(allposts)
found = True
break;
if (i == 99):
urlToConnect = json_object["paging"]["next"]
if (found == True):
break;
df=pd.DataFrame(allposts)
df['Angry'] = df['Angry'].astype(str).str.replace('{\'data\':(.*?)count\': ','')
df['Angry'] = df['Angry'].str.replace(',(.*?)}}','')
df['Haha'] = df['Haha'].astype(str).str.replace('{\'data\':(.*?)count\': ','')

Here is the error I am getting now:
HTTP Error 400: Bad Request
And when I try to type in the url requested in my browser, this error appears:
{
"error": {
"message": "Unknown path components: /nytimes/posts",
"type": "OAuthException",
"code": 2500,
"fbtrace_id": "HsN9zi+byTD"
}
}
That's 2 year old broken Python for retrieving public data from the Facebook API. Why are you posting that? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/548 ... user-token
