Here is the opposite. They returned money the person didn’t even know they overpaid.

Has Super Duper secretly doubled the prices of essential items like fruits and vegetables?

Parking attendants normally drive me insane. Useless people that more get in your way than help. However the guy in front of Super Duper on Sothearos is quite nice and diligent, if I’m on a moto or in a car. Staff always helpful. No complaints after many years.

Super Duper sounded like a Bkk1 expat 1 thingy to me for many years. It’s only around 2018, just a couple of years before moving back to PP that I stepped into one for the first time. One of these days when Cambodia fast modernization hit you in the face.

Huh? The new Lucky Supermarket on Sihanouk makes Super Duper BKK look like a Harlem bodega.Barang_doa_slae wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 12:24 amSuper Duper sounded like a Bkk1 expat 1 thingy to me for many years. I've never been to Super Duper BKK, only the original branch on 488. I must check this new Lucky out sometime, I'd be surprised if it had anything better than the lame choice of overpriced/ unpriced crap that they've been selling for years. And I'd rather a Harlem Bodega than some shitbox store full of Chinese products.Srey Bourque wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 2:36 amHuh? The new lucky on Sihanouk looks nice and is very spacious with wider aisles. It has the same shit/overpriced stock though. They seem to focus too much on cheap American shit at high prices, maybe there is a market for that(?)Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 4:23 amI've never been to Super Duper BKK, only the original branch on 488. I like super duper, between there aeon and Thai huot you can get most of what you need. I still have to go to all 3 to get everything
I am lazy, and almost every week I buy something in the very limited western style shops nearby. I understand that Super Duper Lucky and Thai Hot have a lot of foreign products local markets like Pasar They, Kandal, Cha, etc, etc. don't have, but how do they compare for things like fruit and vegetables?
(In the past, I never saw the point of buying 2 mangoes on a plastic wrapped styrofoam tray for the price of 4 mangoes on a street near the market, where I could smile at the old lady selling it and imagine the value chain stretching back to the farmer with no already rich person involved. However, what do I know, that narrative might never have been true, and Western style markets probably pay employees more than the woman on the street ever pocketed. With some form of healthcare thrown in.)

I like how they price ice cream cones to locals at .83 and foreigners at .99, or how they unpack cookies, put them in cellophane and sell them for $1.80, next to the fresh bakery, when 3x the number of the exact same cookies are to be had in the cookie isle.
Stopped going to SuperDuper around the time the manager Terrance left.
It has gone to hell. US supplies in Cambodia at US prices.
Get thee hence.

What? Do they really have double pricing where foreigners pay more?hooplehead wrote: ↑Sun May 02, 2021 10:54 amI like how they price ice cream cones to locals at .83 and foreigners at .99, or how they unpack cookies, put them in cellophane and sell them for $1.80, next to the fresh bakery, when 3x the number of the exact same cookies are to be had in the cookie isle.
I've noticed the cashiers scan a little bar code that says "foreigner" or "Khmer" but I never imagined that changes the price I thought Super Duper was just tracking what foreigners bought and what Khmers bought.

Isn't US supplies in Cambodia at US prices good? Shipping costs money. My concern is when a box of Cheez Its costs $9 when it would be $3-$4 in the USA.
