But the Flicks guy said this is all a big mean-spirited lie.
Has Super Duper secretly doubled the prices of essential items like fruits and vegetables?

The price goes on weight. The first one is 0.436 Kg, the next one is 0.468 and the last one is 0.496. Someone else can do the math but it looks like some misers are quibbling about a few cents.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Take the bottom one for example.
The label on the mango says that it costs $1.71 per kg ($1.71 * 0.496 kg) = $0.84816 rounded up $0.85 like it says on the label on the mango.
On the receipt you can see that they charged $1.50 for the $0.85 mango.
The price on the receipt is 76.47% higher than the price on the label.

Super Hiker also have 600g bags of potatoes marked at @ $20 /kilo. No idea of what they would charge you at the check out.

If the proof is only on one item...did you ever think it might have just been an error?
Unless there is evidence of price increases across several items I'd be inclined to give the benefit of the doubt.
A single data point does not a trend make.

They said that it was an error. The price for the mango should have been $2.30/kg, not $1.71 like the label said or $3.02 like they charged.

Burn it down. That'll teach them.

Yes, mangoes are almost free, why anyone would but them in a supermarket beats me/

Still looks pretty cheap to me. Yesterday in Woolworths bananas were $5 a kg. Normally $1.50 to $2. Anyone who thinks price gouging is illegal in the west is kidding themselves.
Recently one company was asking $990 for two days car hire for a Corolla. Makes the Porsche convertible at the Hilton a snip at $400 a day.

I don't know about Woolworths because all their branches in my country closed about 20 years ago. I don't even remember them selling fresh fruit. I was surprised on my last trip to Europe (late 2019) that fruits like Mangoes were pretty much the same price as they are here, 10,000 km away. Caribbean bananas are tasteless but again don't cost much.Bruce Highway wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 1:41 amStill looks pretty cheap to me. Yesterday in Woolworths bananas were $5 a kg. Woolworths in Australia is (was) Safeway’s. Very different to the UK Woolworths.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 1:53 amI don't know about Woolworths because all their branches in my country closed about 20 years ago.
