I thought a pineapple had to be washed, sliced and packaged by a beautiful young Californian vegan man named Noah to reach such exorbitant levels.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the vast majority, if not all, are imported just like everything else (fishermen, rubbish collectors etc).
Don’t think I’ve ever seen a pineapple farm here. I’ve always looked in fields when they are working to see if they’re pulling them up from the dirt but it’s always turnips or potatoes.
I remember in italy the huge pasta tree harvests but italy imports most of its pasta from Greenland.

End of March I hitchhiked for a bit with a nice family of pineapple farmers on a guyum in the Aural countryside. They even gave me a pineapple as a gift.
I’ll give you $13 for it.trollkotze wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 12:55 pmEnd of March I hitchhiked for a bit with a nice family of pineapple farmers on a guyum in the Aural countryside. They even gave me a pineapple as a gift.

Did you see the weight. Almost 4kg. 1kg usually $2.50. If it's honey pineapple even more expensive. I buy in the province. Same price. There pineapple plantations in Cambodia. All imported is a myth.

€13 for a pineapple! GTFOOH
Is that a Lucky Lukan photoshopy, or a South American import?
I don't envy you guys if it is really 13 bucks.
Lockdown, alcohol ban, Chinese invasion, cannot leave the country, no humpy pumpy with bar girls, and now $13 pineapples.
What a time to be alive.
Have you considered Ireland?
It's lovely.

A few points. It's a Honey Pineapple, it's not one of those scrawny 500 gram tasteless things you usually get from the parched earth in Kampong Spueu. It's nearly four kilograms. It's also being sold in Bayon Supermarket, in a pleasant air conditioned environment. If you want a better price hit a fruit market. Fruit and veg are getting a bit scarce recently because of supply issues but don't imagine that this is a normal price for a pineapple here.

Back in the day, I remember a certain thread about the price of pineapples that kind of became an instant classic, is this a ten-year anniversary thread?
Don’t eat that. It’ll turn you Christian, especially on a Saturday.ABC wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 4:55 amThat looks like a pasta plant. do you have any photos of a weetbix tree ?YaTingPom wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 12:11 pmI wouldn’t be surprised if the vast majority, if not all, are imported just like everything else (fishermen, rubbish collectors etc).
