They are completely different products and taste nothing like each other.

It's basically a different version of Marmite though.
Marmite: In 1902 the Marmite Food Company was founded in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Vegemite was invented in Melbourne in 1922 when Australian food manufacturer Fred Walker asked chemist CP Callister to create a product similar to British Marmite.
The industrial revolution, the computer, and Marmite. It cannot be under estimated what us Brits have contributed to mankind as we know it.

That’s like saying marmalade is a different version of jam.
Only a Brit would think they are the same thing. Or a German - and let’s not get started on their food.

I would agree that German food used to be pretty dire for decades, thanks to a lost war and communism, but I do think that today, Germany had some of the best, and most underrated, food anywhere. The bread, sausages, cheese, cold cuts, roasts, potato dumplings, desserts, are not to sniffed at.Guest wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:36 pmspitthedog wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 6:23 pmDude,Guest wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 5:58 pmspitthedog wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 4:53 pmGood old British marmite, re-branded and keeping them Aussies going.

No mention of Vegemite Cheesybite from the resident Australians (and Poms/Kiwis/Saffers who call themselves Australian)?
Marmite is stronger, and much harder to find especially in Kampot.
