This is a pretty awful story.
It seems that locals need to now have a covid free cert, costing $140 and significant delay, before they get admitted to hospital for certain illnesses.
I had a friend who was sick a couple of weeks back and she wasnt admitted to Royal PP hospital until a covid test was done, she sat outside in a a hut until results were returned. Thankfully her illness wasn't serious and she had medical cover.
