Has anyone been up high in a tall building in Cambodia during extreme winds like last night? New Yorkers in new super talls there, complain of noise and movement. Curious what last night's storm felt like?
I do know standing behind glass windows in a big storm isn't clever, but It is hard to drag yourself away. I was just twice as high as a steel streetlight. looking down on it as it danced and shook in the flashing lightning. The wind and rain was roaring so loud I sometimes covered my ears. Both scary and freeing at the same time!
Phnom Penh is a pretty good city to watch storms come in. I love the views from the Vattanak platform bar (Sorry forget the name..), but I guess it is closed for Covid and would have closed for the storm anyway. Is the room just inside also closed to visitors?
Last night's storm. Anyone high up?

Jaysus,
Now you've got storms to deal with aswell??
It's enough to drive you to drink, if you were allowed to.

Storms are a rare respite from normality here, like a sunny day in Ireland. Quite enjoyable unless your house blows down and your cattle get electrocuted.spitthedog wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 4:39 pmJaysus,

I live at the bridge and no noise or movement yesterday. Clouds were really low at some point. I think that time when the video was shot.

Storms are often surprisingly localized here, one area is knee deep in floods and you cross the road and it's bone dry. What bridge?china_love wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 10:36 pmI live at the bridge and no noise or movement yesterday. Clouds were really low at some point. I think that time when the video was shot.

Oh right, I kind of guessed you meant there. It's funny because in that video it so obscured with rain and cloud.
