Covid-19 cases nicely down
The obvious assumption is that the headline numbers are baloney, and that the details are not being published, so that no-one can check them independently. The list of infected people is not comprehensive, and again is not something anyone would be able to verify.
The totals suddenly went from high and volatile, to a much lower, and a beautifully smooth slow downward trend, exactly when the new chart was introduced, apparently by a new PR spokeperson.

Yeah, it can sort of be verified. I've kinda been trying to do it.Ghast wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 7:44 pmThe obvious assumption is that the headline numbers are baloney, and that the details are not being published, so that no-one can check them independently. Most people will know of someone infected. Check the list on day of admission and day after. If their name isn't there then something is wrong.
In the past month I have known personally 2 people (plus 4 family members of theirs) appearing on the lists, and have known of maybe 10-12 more (colleagues of friends).
Most appeared on the list the day of detection, but a few appeared a day late.
I don't know a single person infected, here, in the UK, family, friends, friends of friends, work colleagues, nobody. Taking that as a good thing at the moment, my hermit life is paying dividends!!ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 9:29 pmYeah, it can sort of be verified. Ask your wife and mother-in-law, I'm sure they will know some people, or know of some people.
In the UK I only know of three, but one of those sadly died very early on in the pandemic.

'Near zero' being 20-30 deaths daily
Odd that if I travel to Ireland I can be out of lockdown after 5 days (if I don’t test positive) but if I transit through the UK (or come from there) I have to quarantine for 10 days!
It’s because of the delta variant and Ireland have said they don’t agree with the UKs easing of lockdown measures.
Kampot has stopped reporting cases.

Change the scale you muppet. If you compare to infections then of course deaths is fairly low.
The population is relatively young and many have a healthy, active lifestyle (compared to many other countries). And PP is 90% vaccinated. So whilst still have infections they aren't as serious as those non vaccinated.

Kampot Market open as of today. Nobody knows for how long. Infections don't seem to be reported in any newspaper anymore (engl). Local hospital informed that they will start vaccinating foreigners very soon. (reliable source is the director of the hospital himself).
