Anyhow, my wife just became a US citizen and we are also looking to move her aging mother here to us peemantly.
I don't know if this helps but with America, once a foreign resident becomes a citizen, they make it a lot easier to bring over immediate family members such as mothers and fathers on a green card ( permanent resident card) versus a normal tourist visa (6mo).
