By all means Harry, just looked at the Arizona 15 news last night. 19,000 deaths but no alcohol bans. FYI the population of AZ is 7.2 million so that's .24% of the population. Last year there were 1,700 road deaths in Cambodia, down 17% from 2019. Have you seen an increase on traffic enforcement to "save lives"? I follow the numbers 1st and the ever changing science 2nd when it's actually solid. How many "boosters" has those childhood inoculations required? Only one comes to mind and that's tetanus. Once every 10 years.
Control through fear. If you read the Khmer Times daily as I do 99.5% of the articles are on Covid. Crap, the even report on single Cambodian Covid deaths in Thailand & Vietnam.

I can't drink the domestics anymore, gives me a case of bad stomach. Beer Lao works but the only two places I know of aren't selling it either, Bayon & A-Z because of the ban. Don't find many (none) mom & pop stores in my area either. Just mini's and Superduper.
Hey, Thailand no problem. Here, another kettle of fish.
Latter has the best single malt selection

Thanks Salt. Since posting I've become aware of many other sources thanks to this forum and that's why I finally joined after 5+ years of living here. A wealth of expat knowledge out there w/o the counterproductive snide remarks and that's what an expats forum should be about.
I'll have to give that liquor venue opposite the Sports Club a look see. Sounds like a winner!

Please show me the rule that bans either the consumption or the purchase of alcohol. There is a ban on selling it, I'm not encouraging anyone to sell it, that would be a no-noHarry Monk wrote: βTue Sep 07, 2021 10:19 aminstead of encouraning the consumption maybe you shoudl consider encouraging following the rules.Miguelito wrote: βTue Sep 07, 2021 8:35 amYou're referring to Che Deth, yes they have some good prices, as does there sister store on 172 Navy. They will sell to you. Or, don't even leave your house, and go direct to one of the distributors that will deliver it. Or Lucky Drink delivers. Do you need help crossing the road too?Ibenthereto wrote: βMon Sep 06, 2021 3:46 pmI have checked Aeon in the past and found them to be a little pricey. There is a lady on St.13 across from Kandal market that's always $2+ cheaper than Bayon. But, happy days are here again. One of the local spirits & wine shops are apperenty getting a head start on lifting the ban. Scored a GlenDronach 12yo.
I did find a hole in the wall mom & pop but they only had cans of ABC.
Thanks to all that attempted to steer me in the right direction.

Well anyway the news came out this afternoon (Khmer Times) that the restrictions including the alcohol ban are extended till Sep 23, with over 500 new cases daily that decision was predictable.ααααααα·αααα’α»α wrote: βWed Sep 08, 2021 11:03 amAnd anyway Migs is just using it to wash his hands.Miguelito wrote: βWed Sep 08, 2021 11:01 amHarry Monk wrote: βTue Sep 07, 2021 10:19 aminstead of encouraning the consumption maybe you shoudl consider encouraging following the rules.Miguelito wrote: βTue Sep 07, 2021 8:35 amYou're referring to Che Deth, yes they have some good prices, as does there sister store on 172 Navy. It has this sub-header:
All gatherings or gatherings of people for all kinds of alcohol are prohibited
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
SHIT!
I thought schools were going to open, but they have long lines gathering, spaced, for alcohol disinfectant. Oh well, Maybe after P'chum they'll allow schools to gather for alcohol!
