Plan B - where do Expats move next ?
Plan B - where do Expats move next ?
I personally don't need a Plan B because Cambodia IS my plan B and worked for the past 20 years
However lots of Expats discussing leaving Cambodia, but the question is where to ? I was surprised to learn that many choose countries in South America like Paraguay but this one really blew my mind and was against all odd's that i could think of.
Mexico
Before you start reading: NO , you don't have to be Lesbian, Gay, Trans or inbetween. You can be who you are but a bit of Spanish Language skills will certainly help. And don't act like a friggin Gringo !

I was in Panama & Colombia already before the Covid hit.
Next to check out Bolivia, Paraguay & Uruguay.
Colombia will probably remain a top contender until i decide where to settle down.
I've spent 7 Years in SEA, so there's that. And of course, being able to speak the language of the land always goes along way.

If you want the privilege of being able to, many years from now, sit in a bar and spin yarns of daring-do and moan about how shit it all is now things have developed, then get your arse off to Kabul, Saana or Pyongyang. Hell, even Yangon is having a misery revival. This is your big chance!
Good point.

If you are old, there is no other place to go. Cambodia is the last frontier, it is for me.
NJH had a habit of confrontation that might be OK in Cambodia, but not in Mexico. In his last video he was bitching about a noisy neighbor. That's possibly what ended him.
They would be a pair of quite exotic prostitutes in Mexico.v12 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 11:37 amWhat I do miss in this Yahoo writing is "the money earning part", the income.Expatissimo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:50 pmI personally don't need a Plan B because Cambodia IS my plan B and worked for the past 20 years

Yeah, for Mexico, Central and South America you can forget about the $0.75 beers and the $20. prostitutes.Marty9 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 12:48 pmThey would be a pair of quite exotic prostitutes in Mexico.v12 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 11:37 amWhat I do miss in this Yahoo writing is "the money earning part", the income.Expatissimo wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:50 pmI personally don't need a Plan B because Cambodia IS my plan B and worked for the past 20 years

Never been to Central or South America, but aren't they a step up in crime, as far as robberies go, compared to SEA?
In Cambodia they generally only rob you if you are drunk or stupid, late at night.
They are good like that...
Anyway, i was travelling or residing in exotic parts of the world for so long, that work is the new adventure for me.
Preferably with grey cloudy skies and a cool mist in the air, so one doesn't overheat.
After years of living in focking hot countries it has suddenly occurred to me that I don't like overly hot weather very much.
Who would have thunk it?
What about Oi'land?
They've got some good Chippers and curry sauce.
Just watch out for the knackers though.
