Legal advice
Legal advice
The pp municipal court recently made a desicion in a case involving myself. The lawyer made out it was a formality and nothing to worry about. however when he told me what happened it was apparently he was unprepared and had lied about various details. When I pointed this out he deleted all our correspondence and blocked me from contacting him. I have spoken to various people including lawyers and it seems the only way I can access the courts decision is to pay another lawyer. My embassy can't help. Anyone know another way to do this?

Gets stitched up by a lawyer asks a lawyer for advice.
It’s like asking a racist if it’s ok to say n@@@er.

pew, pew, pew, pew!
Yeah, I think, you do not have much choice, other than to get another lawyer.
Always take care to have your file, all documentation and all communication in a safe (your own electronic) place.

there's no public record? only the original accusation that gets plastered across the media?
No PUBLIC records. Court records, though, I think, to access these, this has to be done through a lawyer. Keep in mind, the court records will not contain everything, only what got filed at the court.
So, yeah, the moment you don't continuously collect all paperwork (in copy) yourself, the lawyer has a tight grip on you, and it might be difficult to find a "college" to replace the original lawyer.
Keep in mind, the saying is, that the Cambodian lawyer community seems to be a pretty closed off happening, where nobody is allowed in, that could be a threat to the existing community.

Court clerks often lose papers and forget to file them properly. It’s a mess even with a good lawyer.
Just found out the lawyer was transferred to another province and the case is pending.
