Worse thing about Cambodia
It is the increase in motorization in the Third World that is causing the many deaths, mainly among vulnerable citizens, children, pedestrians, bus passengers, cyclists and motorcyclists. In the United States, for example, statistics relate to collisions between vehicles at high speed.
I hate when you get invited to things and its just them being polite, and you are supposed to decline. If you invite me to eat at your wedding, I go eat at your wedding. If you don't want me to eat at your wedding, don't invite me.

I get about a lot and I haven't seen anybody smushed on the concrete for years. Purely anecdotal of course. It's those country roads that grind up the most people.busybee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 6:47 pmIt is the increase in motorization in the Third World that is causing the many deaths, mainly among vulnerable citizens, children, pedestrians, bus passengers, cyclists and motorcyclists. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Thanks for bringing my attention to everyday carnage. I feel I don't see so many smushed-up folks as I used to though. It's good.Spigzy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 11:09 pmYou're reading the wrong rag LL, try this for size - daily PP grinds & WTFery ...

said nothing about deaths< bad driving does not always mean deaths' ( although it often does)Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 2:06 pmThe statistics don't support that. Thailand has one of the worst traffic death rates in the world. Cambodia doesn't even get on the top ten. More unsubstantiated Cambodia bashing. These figures are from 2015, you are welcome to provide updated figures if you like.
get out on the open road and observe the way Khmers drive
eiather to slow or to fast
never look before making a turn, never make correct turns, there always blending into on coming traffic
talking on the phone
taking up 2 lanes
motorcycles filling up any available space at lights and either going Before the light turns green or after
"We are turning into a nation of whimpering slaves to Fear—fear of war, fear of poverty, fear of random terrorism, or suddenly getting locked up in a military detention camp on vague charges of being a Terrorist sympathizer." HST
It's strange that you don't like Cambodia because you are similar to cambodians t when it comes to writing. They don't use commas as well.Phuket2006 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 8:46 amsaid nothing about deaths< bad driving does not always mean deaths' ( although it often does)Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 2:06 pmThe statistics don't support that. It smells like a beginner, the fact that they think no one is watching. On the contrary, they are looking at you all the time, out of the corner of their eye. Be careful and be a gentleman out and about.
Does the smushed up and near smushed up statistics include which ones were smashed off their faces on moonshine and ice.
You are supposed to donate. The more you donate, the more important you are considered and the more invitations you get.
No donation and, indeed, they expect you to decline.
Actually, I contribute to that, in perfection. Arrive the as the latest, drive off as the first .....Phuket2006 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 8:46 am.....

Sidewalks are very good to accomplish that and at the front, just snake through the cars randomly lined up until at the front.
As in the United States, you will find drivers with a little too much alcohol in their blood returning home after dinner here due to lack of any real enforcement. It is at night that vulnerable people are threatened by large vehicles emblazoned with the growing middle class. But harder drugs such as yama are more common in entertainment districts where offenders are also prone to wasting their time with foreign expats on a reasonable budget. I think the smell of someone with no real experience here is the case.A mcdonald wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 10:15 amDoes the smushed up and near smushed up statistics include which ones were smashed off their faces on moonshine and ice.

So Thais are actually great drivers - they just have more road deaths per capita than any other country in Asia? That makes a lot of sense.Phuket2006 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 8:46 amsaid nothing about deaths< bad driving does not always mean deaths' ( although it often does)

There have been studies that argue there is a link between the level of corruption in a country and the rate of motor vehicle accident fatalities.
Every time a Thai official puts his hand in Richard's pocket, a Thai guy gets run over by a truck.
