Historically that's not correct for hard copy publications, at least not where I'm from. Occurrences of "Name and address supplied" appearing where the name and location of the person would normally appear at the end of a published letter are far from uncommon.
The media outlet does have their details but is protecting the identity of the correspondent at their request
