Is Cambodia getting too expensive?
Am I reading it wrong? The OP is saying Cambodia is CHEAPER than Thailand. You need more money in Thailand to maintain the same standard in Cambodia. No one pointed this out or is it me?

Much more choices in Thailand as far as beach destinations go though.
I can't really be arsed to sit on a plane for 12 hours as I get older though.
Kinda nice to be sitting in a bar with a meal after travelling just for an hour or three.

I doubt air quality has improved. While there are lots of newer hybrid cars, the volume of traffic has increased alarmingly. The reading at the Minster of Environment near Naga Casino often displays high air pollution readings.notagain wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 3:02 pmI don't see any litter lying on the streets, unless the owners of the property decide so. Air quality has improved greatly with older cars and tuktuks replaced. There are more and more high-end malls to browse, and from PP the ocean is close enough for comfort.
Please stay away from Cambodia if you don't like it, I don't really mind having less to share with anyone.

However, Bangkok is obviously far worse. Fine particle matter is the main culprit.
Cambodia ranks 162nd (out of 178 countries) at the Environmental Performance Index for Air Quality. May 24, 2022
Second your request for persistent detractors to stay away, so tired of hearing how fantastic Thailand is from people who choose to live here. Poor form to always be critiquing your hosts.
The stench is much less in my downtown apartment here, there was a considerable smell of fumes during the afternoon rush hour before. But that has come down a lot over the past decade. I don't feel it anymore. But I speak only from personal experience and nothing else.
