What maps does Foodpanda use?
I’ve just noticed that the foodpanda map has a little symbol on it showing where traffic police are situated.
Anybody know which map they use and if they can be downloaded?

Google Maps. Also Waze has the feature. But it involves people input, so might not be that accurate always. Works perfectly fine in western world but so-so in Cambodia.
Shit. I used to use Waze 10 years ago. Didn’t know it was still a thing.
pew, pew, pew, pew!

You are right, I’ve just noticed that the police symbol appears on maps on my phone but not on the maps on my car screen thru CarPlay. Would be more helpful to have it available in CarPlay but I don’t see any way to change the settings to make it appear.rogerrabbit wrote: ↑Thu Nov 24, 2022 9:47 pmGoogle Maps. We could just drive in a manner that doesn’t require us to know where police are? Bonkers I know!

Well that’s just nonsense.lazy feck og wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 12:54 pmIf only that was all it took to avoid police soliciting funds.
In a car 50% of the time they just stop me and invent some BS
I was thinking more of those turn right on a red light instances. Sometimes it’s ok, and they get annoyed if you don’t turn, other times they stop you for it.
Or maybe where those junctions that are often gridlocked and you can sometimes find yourself going through a green light but it could appear like you are an amber gambler due to the v slow moving traffic.
Apart from that, just drive properly and keep your nose clean and they don’t bother you.

That does remind me about the SHV police who tend to try it on; never been stopped in PP in car or moto for doing nothing wrong. Just a cheeky little 'amber' light once upon a time!lazy feck og wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 12:54 pmIf only that was all it took to avoid police soliciting funds.

Drive the right car and they won't bother you.
They're mostly after motos, not cars

Nah you’re out of date. They are fairly partial to stopping a car also. Bigger payday.
It’s not the right car you need, it’s the right plates.
Why is such an active map necessary? They are mostly in the same places around the city. And at the time of day when there is shade. There aren't many places where there is proper space to stand to begin with. I can imagine the VIP card in the pane will do more than anything else
Certainly in SHV- stopped driving a Range Rover, Audi Q7 & a Lexus - not all at the same time obviously!ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 7:05 amNah you’re out of date. They are fairly partial to stopping a car also. Bigger payday.

No traffic violation, license check, tax check, I even offered insurance docs each time- 10 mins a pop until the dudes gave up for a pay day.
